The best and fastest way to adding more storage to m1, m2 pro. This thing is amazing, I never used a thunderbolt ssd and when I tried this for the first time I was blown away at how fast it is. I have the sandisk pro extreme witch I thought was fast coming from a HDD but this fantom drive is so fast it’s insane. A super large folder with thousands of files usually takes days to transfer with a HDD or 1-2 hours with the fastest SSD, but with this thunderbolt it takes less than 5 minutes to do both copying and pasting. I can edit 4k videos directly from the drive with ease. What makes this better in my opinion than any other thunderbolt ssd out there is the size and build. This drive is hands down the smallest self power thunderbolt ssd. The next option is OWC which is a good option but this fantom has the latest technology and it’s smaller. The drive is made in Taiwan not China and then assembled in the USA. Mind you the high speed it’s only noticeable if you have a Mac with thunderbolt port to utilize the full speed. When I use it on my iMac 2017 it’s fast like the sandisk but not like when using the thunderbolt port.

Wow - this fast SSD gave me a brand new 2017 iMac. Cant believe I waited to do this.

Mainly used as backup and it works very well for that. I use it with Carbon Copy Cloner for an exact clone of the internal storage, even the first clone was fast enough to not annoy me, subsequent clones do a lot less copying and complete in minutes. Its slightly larger than a deck of cards and feels very solidly built. Would I buy this again? Yes.

Ive the drive connected to my Mac and the speed is comparable with the internal SSD. I fact, it feels like there is no difference in speed. Love it! Ill buy it anytime again.

I bought this compact SSD for use as the Time Machine backup drive for my 2021 M1Max MacBook Pro laptop/notebook computer. I have only used it three times so far, but it seems to work great; definitely a lot faster than the external hard drive that I had been using for the same purpose previously. This SSD is roughly the same size as a deck of playing cards, but surprisingly heavy for its small size. Naturally, I wish it cost a hundred dollars less, but so far I am quite pleased with it. It is worth noting the Thunderbolt cable that comes with this SSD is quite short, so it works fine if you will only place the SSD on a desk or table right next to your computer, but otherwise you would want to get a high-quality Thunderbolt cable with more length.

I liked the size and storage. It must have a power supply.

These are good drives when someone doesn’t swap out the SSD from inside. Received the drive. No issues same speed but found out weeks after receiving that the SSD was swapped out inside for another manufacturers drive. Guess that’s what you get when the drive goes unexpectedly on sale.

Works perfect, I benched the speed also and its pretty high as advertised. The speed it self when you transfer huge projects files its really fast ! Its expensive tho but if you got the money, worth it !

Sturdily built. Bit of a problem dragging and dropping to standard USB.

Love editing in FCPX with this little guy attached to my M1 MBP. super fast and works well! I then back this up to my home server and also backblaze.
