> 3 dayI bought this compact SSD for use as the Time Machine backup drive for my 2021 M1Max MacBook Pro laptop/notebook computer. I have only used it three times so far, but it seems to work great; definitely a lot faster than the external hard drive that I had been using for the same purpose previously. This SSD is roughly the same size as a deck of playing cards, but surprisingly heavy for its small size. Naturally, I wish it cost a hundred dollars less, but so far I am quite pleased with it. It is worth noting the Thunderbolt cable that comes with this SSD is quite short, so it works fine if you will only place the SSD on a desk or table right next to your computer, but otherwise you would want to get a high-quality Thunderbolt cable with more length.

> 3 dayI’m a sports photographer and having a fast external hard drive is essential. I’ve been using this one for about 2 months and cannot express to you adequately how much faster it is than the other SSD’s I’ve tried. No glitches or hangups. I’ve super happy with this drive and just ordered a 2nd.

> 3 dayI purchased this external drive to become the new primary / boot drive for my mid-2017 27” iMac. When I purchased my iMac five years ago, it came with a Fusion drive (small SDD and slow 5400rpm traditional HDD). Fast forwarding to present day, I found the Fusion drive getting slower and I wasn’t keen on removing the screen of the iMac to replace the old Fusion drive. Since my iMac supports Thunderbolt 3, this external drive is faster than the Fusion drive. Following a tutorial I found via internet search, I mirrored the contents from the old drive to this new external one with minimal effort and then set it as the boot drive the system. My five year old iMac now boots faster and applications launch faster… likely adding a few more years of life to my iMac before I ultimately replace it. Write speeds are more than double the old drive, and read speeds are close to double when I ran benchmarks on the old and new drives.

> 3 dayThis is insane fast. If you handle large files or many files daily, then this is a no brainer.

> 3 dayI needed an external drive for my mac mini (which only came with 256 gig, it was an emergency buy). This one feels as if it is an internal drive. I had trouble with stability with other external SSD drives. This one works great, also when doing heavier stuff with final cut where even for very small projects hundreds of gig are required. I only use it for a day now (including video editing for a night) but it is a relief to be on a stable harddrive.

> 3 dayIve been looking for an affordable external hard drive for my gaming needs, and needed an SSD with multiple different ports so its compatible with all the different devices I use. The device arrived on time, in nice packaging, and works exactly as expected. The enclosure is small, its amazing how you can get 4TB in such a small enclosure. And it looks sleek!

> 3 dayIve the drive connected to my Mac and the speed is comparable with the internal SSD. I fact, it feels like there is no difference in speed. Love it! Ill buy it anytime again.

> 3 dayMany years ago, I was an assistant editor on a mid-budget Hollywood film. Since digital, non-linear editing was still a new thing, our studio had assigned a special technician to the show, to answer our many questions and to generally keep us happy. Our tech made a comment once, while exchanging removable 100GB units from within our custom-built drive tower (these units were the size of small watermelons and weighed about 20lbs each!) He said that one day — in the *future* — wed be able to hold *1TB* drives in the palms of our hands, and that theyd be the *size of credit cards* The eXtreme Im now holding is actually 2TB, and its read/write speeds are surreal. This futuristic object plugs in like a line jack into a console, and exchanges data at rates not seen in systems costing less than $5,000. Im blown away by its utility, and have no complaint whatever about its use. This is a device from the future we were all promised, which will be useful far into our own future, as well…

> 3 dayI bought this product to use during an upgrade from MacOs High Sierra to Monterey, but unfortunately the Thunderbolt firmware on High Sierra was too old. It could recognise the drive on the Thunderbolt bus, but couldnt mount the disk. Once I had upgraded to Monterey the disk worked perfectly!
