Fellowes Thermal Laminating Pouches, ImageLast, Jam Free, Letter Size, 3 Mil, 150 Pack (5200509), Clear

I did a side-by-side comparison of these pouches against some Scotch 3mil pouches on both Scotch and Fellows branded laminating machines. These Fellowes pouches did impress me as being a little better quality than the Scotch pouches and the end result was slightly thicker and a tiny bit more firm feeling to me. This was true for both of the machines I tested. Ive used heavy card stock in these pouches with no issues. The only time I see any waviness is in a half empty pouch. (The instructions do warn you not to run half empty pouches through the machine.) I experienced no color or visibility distortion. I also didnt have any issues with air bubbles as the 2 sides of each pouch are attracted to each other statically, which helps keep excess air out.

In helping a friend with a large lamination run, I used his Fellowes Cosmic 95 to laminate 900 letter sized sheets over two days. We knew that this model was not designed for such use. A Fellowes representative expressed considerable displeasure at such treatment when responding to a question that I submitted to the company. But the machine never missed a beat and is still in constant service, so they must be built pretty well. The man for whom I was doing the work is a professional printer and insisted that I use carrier envelopes. Fellowes maintains that a carrier is unnecessary and doesnt include them with their laminating pouches. So, I will purchase the pouches from Office Depot, who is still including a carrier envelope in each package of laminating pouches. My own machine has performed flawlessly, but I intend to use carriers every time. I suspect that the ability of this unit to greatly exceed its design capacity is made possible by the use of carriers.

Fellowes Laminating pouches are very high quality and work perfectly with their laminating machine.

No real complaints outside of the fact that a hot thermal laminator process is not as great as I thought it would be. Sheets of regular non card stock paper will come out wavvy. Not really a fault of Fellowes, since my Scotch laminating pouches gave the same wavvy appearance, but perhaps theres a better design out there, a better material-content, a better way to evenly displace the heat, that could produce a better quality lamination. Perhaps it is my machine, perhaps it is the laminate, but those are my real-life experiences that I cant give 5-stars to. 4-stars is fair here.
