Not for the DIYer. As careful as I was, I DESTROYED the touch screen sensor on my old iPad 2 and had to get another one.

Quit working about a month into use... I have replaced several of these but never bought from seller on amazon. I would not recommend this product.

Worked just like it should. Ok, so I didn’t do this the careful way, I plastered the old screen with tape, and went to it with the tools in the box. Lots of broken glass, but because I went crazy with the tape, it caught all the mess. A little acetone took care off the old glue. And before you know it, it’s like this device had never had a screen. Applied the new one using the instructions, and now my iPad 2 looks as good as new. My kids love this old tablet for some reason, so I revived it and bought it a case. Kids are very happy, and I feel so cool for fixing it. 10 Stars!

The tools provided were very helpful with the replacement process and the screen seems to work for the most part but the adhesive didn’t adhere on one whole side which is frustrating.

So I gave it a try based on other reviews- the reason I bought it was to replace the WiFi cable and the outer trim. All those pieces worked great but thankfully my screen wasn’t cracked so I could reuse it. The one that came in the kit was thinner and felt like plastic compared to the oem one. I tried to install it anyway and the touch functions were terrible, jumping all over and not very sensitive. I checked my connections and they were solid. I took it back off and put on my old screen and it worked perfectly again.

This is a great item. Very well packed together and comes with everything needed to perform a smooth screen replacement.

Finally got around to fixing the screen on our 4-year olds iPad. This screen is great! Nobody would ever know that it isnt the original screen at all. It great that it comes with all the tools necessary to install. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because after installing the new screen, the wifi did not work. We ended up easily fixing the problem by purchasing a new wifi antennae for the iPad installation, but had to then un-install this screen to replace the wifi antennae

Our screen seemed to be functioning normally after cracking but before replacing. We had no choice to replace since its used by my 3yo and it was cracked all the way through. Now the response to touch is so delayed and in some areas of the screen doesnt work so now Ive wasted my money on this. Im not sure what went wrong as all seemed to go very smoothly in the replacement. Super bummed as the repaired ipad was supposed to by my 3yos Christmas. giving a 2 since it was fairly easy and im not certain if the fault was ours or not.

I rarely write reviews, but was really happy with this kit. Get the one with the wifi antenna and the toolkit; both were very important. I did not wind up needing the bezel, but used everything else. Others are correct that the instructions are way too small, but just go to Youtube for videos. Video directions + this kit = a pretty hassle-free installation. I probably spent two hours total, but was being careful, and it was pretty fun if you are an engineer at heart.
