California wildfires can cause months of smoke-filled days. Sadly this is now a common event every summer, so this is written from a wildfire survivor (living in a burned forest). When just being outside (and breathing) is hazardous to your health, then it is very helpful to have air purifiers inside your home. These filters are the easiest to replace and moderately priced. I vacuum them about once per week, but find myself replacing the ashy gray filters about once a month, just based on my visual inspection. I haven waited for the machine to start blinking and telling me I need to replace the filter.

I have two of the Renphro Units (I hope I spelled it right) these filters are excellent. Only wish I could wash them and put them back in systems because it can be costly. This is my 6th (I believe) order. But if you want them to work efficiently follow the instructions and replace the filters.

I agree with the other reviews - there is a HORRIBLE plastic smell that comes from these filters. Kind of defeats the purpose of filtering the air. Never buying these again.

The original filter was great, but both replacement filters have a strange plastic odor that hasn’t gone away after multiple days of use.
