These are great little lamps for an even better price. If you get them during a sale they can be as low as $5 each. They may be little, but they put out a decent amount of heat. *Anything containing a bulb can get fairly hot, so use caution when handling anything but the ceramic part. Honestly turning the lamp off and letting it cool first is safer for everyone.* Speaking of safe, it took me forever to confirm, but even though it comes with a clamp (which is hell to assemble) you can place this flat on mesh lids. Just make sure you create a safe distance between the bulb/heat and the animal, to avoid burns. When I equipped this lamp with a bulb, there are holes around the top of the lamp to allow heat to escape. The only negative is that the light escaping can be hard on the eyes if hit just right. I recently started using infrared ceramic bulbs which emit no light, so thats no longer an issue for me. All in all a great little lamp at a great price, just dont buy at a pet store, youll be paying almost triple the price. Update: Still working after two years of off and on use. Absolutely recommend.

one of my lamps wjile connected and turned on fell in to a bucket full of water, i though it was the end of it, disconnect it and left it to dry, try it the next day and it was still workimg like nothimg happened, love them, great light and heat sirpersors

So happy I bought this on amazon and not at a store in my area. Works perfectly for about a month or 2 now

The lamp came smashed so was unable to use and not worth the time or gas to try and take it to be returned

I have had it for 3 years for my yellow bellied slider. They seem to last about that long before something fails whichbisnt bad considering the price and its on proberly 14 to 16 hours a day.

There isnt much to say outside of the fact that the product is exactly as described and it works. I have my switch in the on position and plugged into a timer for a cycle. No issues.

It worked as intended for a month, then it started having problems turning on. Wiggling the wire helped for another month, and now its completely dead.
