Fluval A20061 X06 AquaStop Valve

This was bought to replace old one. No problems installing. Fit perfectly.

The red latching mechanism that locks it to the filter is cheap and easy to break. It works fine, but be careful because once its bent it never straightens out and each time you lock it itll bend out of position and youll think youre going to snap it off. Shipping was good and no defects.

Evidently all big Fluval filter water stops break or leak eventually. The one on my 406 took 4 years to start leaking. Not bad. Im very gentle when disconnecting for cleaning. But its nice to see they are still available. Kinda pricey but the Fluval filters are still the best in my opinion. I havent even had to replace the impeller cover since they improved the design some years ago. Bought a spare stop for next time.

Simple to replace. Old one started leaking. Much cheaper than replacing pump and filter.

Fluval is Id say the best canister filter you can get. Silent, strong and for the most part trouble free. However nothing is made to last forever. Ive been using it 6 years and Ive had to replace the propeller and the door that encases it. Get an extra because you want to have a backup. This valve...this is one of the main things you must have a backup because this you do not want to leak. Its a vulnerable point. Mine after 6 years is getting very difficult to line up when closing after a filter cleanings. I know one time soon the red lever will snap. I just ordered the backup before that happens. Do yourself a favor and order backups of theses parts ahead of time so you can change it out immediately. You dont want to have to wait for this part to come after it breaks or leaks.
