> 24 hourThis ammonia remover seems to wear out too fast. It works well for its purpose. My fish seem happy. I use these bags in a basket in my canister filter.

> 24 hourNot safe for snails or most inverts. Does not say so on any site I have seen or the box, but ion exchange means salt is released as ammonia is captured. Works well but will kill your snails over time. Also you can recharge this by soaking in a heavy brine (saltwater) for 24 hrs. Rinse well before putting back in filter.

> 24 hourAmmonia is deadly for fish so this is very handy and gits in any Hagen filter. Any products from Hagen for Fluval and AquClear are awesome. Ive got a Fluval 206 canister filter, Fluval 70 and 50 HOB filters for 30 gallon low tech planted tank.

> 24 hourAll I needed was for this to marginally lower the ammonia in a new tank (over populated)--did the trick very well with no adverse effects (other than slowing down the cycling). As a novice, I made the mistake of adding 18 fish to a new 36 gallon tank. That said, 6 weeks in and all surviving well thanks to frequent water changes and ammonia removal. Nitrites coming down and nitrates leveling. Good stuff.
