A great film. Makes me cry every single time!

Thats how a local Whistle Stop newsletter (The Weems Weekly) describes the family situation in Fannie Flaggs novel, and it underscores the fact that the two women were a couple. The films portrayal of their live-in relationship is subtle, yet creative.

I cant seeing a lot of males enjoying this movie, but it isnt all soft and cuddly either. You get a big feeling that the south could have very been the way this movie portrays it, where females are at the whim of their husbands and the beginning of the movement getting their independence. I would recommend age 13 and over.

Ok book but not much like the movie . The movie was way better.

This movie has a lady demolishing a wall with a sledge hammer. Thats cool. Plus, they feed that one guy to that other guy. Wicked. And that kid loses a leg. That other chick is crazy. Not bad crazy. Just nuts. Chick from Weeds is cool in this too. Deserves its reputation as a great movie.
