Although still working (and I am a Frigidaire dehumidifier fan), my 6-year-old 70-Pint (old rating method) Frigidaire dehumidifier has only been keeping my large crawl space humidity in the range of 64-67%. Not satisfied, I ordered and received my new Frigidaire High Humidity 60-Pint (new rating method) model FFAD6022W1 yesterday. Out of the box, just the size difference screamed This baby is a serious dehumidifier!. The size difference between big new 60-Pint model vs my considerably smaller 8-year-old 50-Pint and 6-year-old 70-Pint Frigidaire models is VERY noticeable. Within 90 minutes of replacement, the new FFAD6022W1 had IMPRESSIVELY lowered the humidity in my crawl space from 69% to 57%! AND later in the evening, that humidity was down to 51%! I cant really attest to energy efficiency, but I expect it to consume somewhat more energy due to its larger capacity and the fact that it is NOT Energy Star Rated. However, the old 70-Pint unit is rated at 6.7 amps while the new FFAD6022W1 is rated at only 4.5% more (7.0 amps) so my hope is that the difference will not be severe. The new FFAD6022W1 also has a couple of extra new standout features that Ill mention: 1.) Auto Mode Button - Auto Mode automatically sets the humidity and fan speed based on room comfort/temperature level (specifically <65F/55%, 65-77F/50% and >77F/45%). Not having to think about or adjust humidity level and fan speed settings is a GREAT new feature.; and 2.) To prevent overheating the compressor, the FFAD6022W1 has an automatic BUILT-IN 3-minute time delayed start if the unit is turned off and on quickly. To protect compressors, for the same purpose Ive purchased and use separate protective plug-in devices for my dehumidifiers, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. Having this feature built right into the unit is great and a cost saver since the purchase of a separate device is no longer necessary. There you have it. Im VERY impressed and happy thus far. Now I just hope it lasts like my other two Frigidaire dehumidifiers!

    Greater than one week

Our bathroom doesnt have great air circulation and gets/stays muggy after showers. This is a nice quick-fix alternative to adding vents through the ceiling. After showers, we use the timer to run the dehumidifier for 30 or 60 minutes, and no more humidity! Im sensitive to noise, so dont love the hum, buts its not objectively outrageously loud. Mostly, I turn it on as Im leaving the room and it cant be heard even 20 away in the next room over. We dump out the water every night, and even 6+ months after daily use have no issues with mold or dirtiness. Two thumbs up!

purchased direct from Frigidaire. The controls for this unit are somewhat restrictive. It starts on the Continuous function, during which you cant see the relative humidity display. The humidity control has a range of 35-60. You cannot go higher, and below 35 is Continuous mode. I set the speed to low. The fan is quite powerful. The unit draws air through the back and blows it through its right, or your left. Can kind of be rotated if you dont like that. Being a refrigerant dehmidifier, it does generate quite a bit of heat. I really liked the water storage tank. The handle makes it easy to carry, and it didnt feel heavy. There are a number of openings through which you can pour the water, but this also means that the tank can release water back into the atmosphere when the unit isnt in operation. The unit will flash the full light whenever the limit switch is open, including when you remove the tank, which is nice and annoying at the same time. The tank holding compartment design is where it fails. There is a tank retaining clip and it is FRAGILE. Ive only removed the tank about 4 times, and on that 4th time, I couldnt get the tank to snap in. The left side would pop out slightly, and it was loose. Upon inspection, there was a shiny clip below the tank limit switch that seemed to have bent when I pushed the tank into it. I am not sure what its original form is, but it seemed like it was attached to the top of the cube part, and it had broken off when the tank was lifted(during removal). This caused the shiny piece to drop down, where before it was in a semi-horizontal triangle. Fortunately, I was able to fix it. This involves manually bending the clip around until the top JUST rests on top of the cube, and the middle has to have enough bend to allow the bottom to clear the limit switch, shown in picture. If it does not clear the switch, the unit will not stop if it overflows. If youre unable to do this, I hypothesize that itd be possible to put tape on the top of the cube and attach it to the end of the clip so that it normally rests in a horizontal position.

This is an easy to use and very efficient unit. I love the mobility of this unit by the wheels. This is the only dehumidifier that I saw when I was shopping that had wheels and they are really a must have for me. The tank is also easy to manage (I am 70 yrs old). The filter is also easy to clean and reassimble. I cant think of any possible improvements that would make this unit better. Thank you Fridgidaire for a well designed and thought out, and well made product. It has really benifitted my health!

I play the double bass. I keep my two basses in a basement-level bedroom with the door closed. Its important to me that the temperature and humidity stay pretty steady. I aim for around 50% relative humidity. This dehumidifier does an excellent job of controlling the relative humidity level in my bass room right around 50%. No matter what the humidity is in the rest of the house, with the door closed, my bass room stays between about 49% and 54% all the time. The unit is quiet on the lowest setting. However, I do turn it off when I am actually practicing the bass. (The white noise level is just loud enough that I have a bit of trouble hearing fine details of the sound when its running.) One thing to be aware of is this: the unit does produce some heat. I have had to get used to practicing with the room temperature between about 79 and 81 degrees Fahrenheit (26-27 Celsius). Its not a problem for my basses, since the temperature is very steady. I hope that during the winter months that room temperature settles in closer to about 21-23 Celsius. Its not a problem as long as the temperature does not shift suddenly; and it doesnt with this unit. [EDIT, October 14, 2022: Now that the outdoor temperatures are generally below 70F / 21C, I do not notice the unit heating up the room at all. It is still pulling moisture out of the air; I have to empty the bucket every couple of days or so.] I am glad I bought the dehumidifier, and Id buy another one in the future. (For what its worth, the first unit delivered by Amazon had a steady leak that resulted in a little puddle on the floor. Since I exchanged for a new unit, I have never had that problem at all.)

I cannot stress enough what a great unit this is. It was purchased as a replacement (same brand) for the dehumidifier we had for 15 years! Thank you, Frigidaire!
