> 3 dayIf you have a leaky/running off and on Kohler toilet, this part replaces the red ring that is on the bottom of the black tube in the toilet tank. The original red ring came apart easily over the years, and this replaces it. Check out the toilet lid underside for parts options, and if you cant determine it, call Kohler and ask what they recommend, with the part number required. To install this part: switch off water below tank, flush the toilet to drain the water in the tank, open the lid, remove black tube (squeeze widthwise), and scrape off red ring that has eroded. then replace it with this ring. replace lid, and turn on water, and flush! 5 minutes to replace, countless gallons of water saved

Greater than one weekWe have a Kohler Cimarron toilet that has the Red valve seal. This was a perfect fit replacement. Reason we got it was because after 2 years the toilet became very difficult to flush; you really had to put a lot of pressure on the flush handle - it was like it was stuck. Replacing this made all the difference - its back to new. A little tip here, the package comes with instructions on the back so when you come to the part where it shows to rotate the center disc portion of the canister mechanism counter clockwise to loosen, well when I did that it sounded like the plastic was going to snap at the shaft. So heres what you do, just lift the actual canister up enough to reach down below it and grab the center shaft at the base where it connects to the toilet tank. It will feel like a + sign in your hand - take that and turn it counter clockwise to loosen it, and then do the same (clockwise) to tighten it. Its a much sturdier way to take the canister mechanism off and on without feeling like youre going to snap the center shaft off.

> 3 dayI purchased my home about 6 months ago and noticed the flush knob was ‘sticky’ on two of them. When I would press down on the lever, I’d need to use a bit of force. I didn’t think much of it until one day I noticed one of them running. I thought I was going to need to replace the entire tank mechanism, but a quick google search led me to these gaskets. I opted for this general Koehler part and am glad I did because it worked flawlessly. It fixed both the issue with the toilet running, and with it being ‘sticky’ to flush. Installation was super simple - the included directions were helpful but there are also plenty of YouTube tutorials if you need extra help. The improvement over the old gaskets was so nice that I went ahead and ordered a second to fix the other toilet before the old gasket on that one deteriorated even more. Others have mentioned (and is specifies on packaging) that your old gasket may be red - this yellow one is the right replacement.

> 3 dayMy Kohler Cimmeron developed Phantom Flushing after a few years. Replacing this part fixed the problem. There were instruction on how to install on the back of the package, however I needed to watch a handy YouTube to complete the job. It was very easy and Im not at all handy.

> 3 dayI noticed that my Kohler (K-4436-AA) toilet would start running randomly throughout the day when it wasnt in use. Reading online it seems that a common problem for running toilets is that the canister seal becomes brittle over time and need to be replaced. There are some great videos on YouTube showing the replacement process for the canister flush valve seal. FYI, The replacement seal is a yellow color while the original seal is red, the product packaging shows that new seal is meant to replace the original red seal. During the seal installation, I confirmed that the yellow seal is indeed a perfect replacement for the original red seal. Additionally, since installing the replacement seal I havent noticed the toilet running randomly anymore. Im hoping that this permanently fixes my running toilet if I notice its running again there is most likely another issue causing the water running.

> 3 dayThe ring gasket it replaced was allowing a significant leak in my toilet tank despite no apparent damage. This causing my water softener to go through regeneration cycles approximately 3 times as often. I installed the new ring gasket and no more water leakage. Saving $20/month in softener salt.
