Chuck the screws. Wish these were 16 on center (they are 18) to hit studs. I painted and put up an old piece of 3/4 plywood on the wall and mounted these bars with better screws. They hold plenty of weight and meet my needs well.

I installed the Mag strips today. I piggy backed 2 x 2 and they work great. They are holding every tool that I placed on them.

The bars are currently being used. However the magnetic strip in it has cracked in many places.
