Overall, this is a pretty good gun for the money. The controls are very usable. The gun is very easy to break down for cleaning. The gun lays primers, base coats, and clear coats on very well. Assuming youve got the gun set up properly, you wont have any problem laying out metalic or pearl finishes. The manufacturer, did however, did cut one corner which is preventing me from rating higher. They include a black plastic cup lid. After a couple of times of occasional use, substances like acetone, automotive paint reducers, and other cleaners cause the lid to shrink and fit poorly. It doesnt keep a seal well and risks falling off during jobs. The replacement cups are about $7-$8 bucks a piece and do take some research to find. It is really quite short-sighted and stupid that they did this. Cheaper, lower quality DeVilbiss Finish Line paint guns provide this. Graco-Sharp would have been better providing the customer with an aluminum screw cap for the cup, or just including a non-shrinking plastic paint cup with a screw cap. I would have gladly paid an extra $10 for a better cap system.

It was my first time doing auto painting with an actual spray paint gun. I was using a $100 (6-gallon) DeWalt air compressor that might have been a little small because my gun air pressure kept dropping below 30psi. Surprisingly this gun still did a great job. I had my gun set to 30psi but I suspect higher psi might yield even better results. Wear a high quality spray paint mask and make sure to tighten it as much as possible. The paint store warned me that the clear coat is highly toxic for your lungs.

Extremely poor quality design and materials. On the first pull of the trigger for testing, the cheap potmetal/tin bent rendering the gun useless. Very disappointing considering the price. Also note that the lid is the pop-on design rather than screw-on and easily leaks around the vent hole in the top.

HammerCustomDrums.com 2 years of use, zero issues. I am a drum builder, I use PPG automotive products, catalyzed urethane mostly. This is my go to gun, its size is perfectly suited for musical instruments. I can attest, all negative reviews, save manufacturer defects, are due to lack of skills as a painter. This gun will lay down clear coat like glass like any high end gun. Best Buy for the money. For a medium and light duty job, or hobby painter who dont need the extreme durability, this gun will do it all. Comes in a large selection of tip sizes to accomplish most paint jobs.

Id been using an expensive AOM gun that failed. I sent it to NM for repair, and they never sent it back. BBB received several complaints that AOM is keeping customers spray equipment. Buy AOM from Spraygunworld at your peril. They did nothing to help me get in touch with AOM, and theyre getting hammered by the as well. Thanks to Amazon, were not beholden to specially dealers who are unscrupulous. This gun works equally well, and has numerous top sizes available. I also have more confidence that Ill be able to get repairs or parts done, as Graco is such an established company that seems makes parts available.

I work for a custom painting and restoration shop and have been there for about 10 years. I paint some on the side and have been doing so since I was a young teenager. I have always used cheap spray guns on the side and when I go to work, I use Iwata spray guns. There is no doubt Iwata guns spray nice in my opinion. Lay a nice pattern and spread metallics and pearls evenly. Here was my issue...a buddy of mine asked me to spray his truck, the colors of choice, silver and tuxedo black(a lot of pearls and mettallics). Because of this, I didnt want to use a cheap, $50 spray gun. I started looking for some decent guns and came across this Sharpe. The reviews I read were excellent and the gun has a similar design shape to the Iwata guns so I decided to pull the trigger. (No pun intended) Upon arrival, I went over it, love the shape, love the feel, and really love the performance. This spray gun is far cheaper than that of an Iwata but in my opinion, sprayed just as nice. The pearls and metallics went on evenly and I have no complaints. This is a fantastic gun, not too expensive but works like a high end spray gun. The only issue I had was I accidentally ordered the wrong size tip. That was my fault but it still worked great. Fantastic product.

Excellent spray gun. I own a automotive restoration shop and this is my go to gun for base coat / clear coat urathanes. Ive been a life long user of Sharpe spray guns, and this one continues to prove the reason i keep buying Sharpes. Very large fan pattern which is excellent for laying metallic colors. If youre debating on buying this gun, buy it you wont regret it!
