> 3 dayI like GU. It helps me make it through my intense training days without making me dizzy or giving me heart palpatations the way pre-workout would. I usually take it after my warm-up and cardio are done, for the boost of energy I need to get through my strength routine. These little gels also make it easier to get through morning workouts before breakfast without absolutely crashing halfway through. I love these gels as a workout aid! I have even noticed less muscle soreness since I started using them. However, the flavors available are disappointing. I have bought GU from this seller, but also at a pre-marathon booth and let me tell you... there are 4 times as many flavors as this Amazon seller provides. Where is the Blackberry? Where is the Smores? The Toasted Marshmallow? These flavors of GU are all vastly better than vanilla. The basic flavors are the least pallatable because there is less flavoring to hide the taste of the gel. Please list more flavors!

> 3 dayThese things taste like plastic and the box I had came with a two or three that didnt seal properly from the factory and had some GU leaking out. Other than that, theyre pretty good. I used them on 2 marathons and quite a few training runs. However, theres something about them that didnt seem quite right. Maybe they were quality rejects? Others Ive had just had more real caramel taste.

> 3 dayIm sure part of it is psychological, but I always take it before I work out. Whether it is a physical or mental boost, it seems to help me get going.

> 3 dayThese are hands down the best trail chowder I have ever consumed! I have been an avid mountain biker since 1990 and have eaten uncountable quantities of nasty sawdust bars, puke flavored bars (see Pro Bar), lumpy gag inducing goo packs, fruity heartburn slime and other varying grotesquiries. These are actually so yummy I crave them when I am not bonking on my bike... Thank you Gu, you have finally made something so tremendously tasty that I actually look forward to trail food time.

Greater than one weekAbsolutely love the taste of these. Have been through two boxes of these already this summer and need another box. I think I will go and order them right now! They are essential for hot summer rides, easy to eat and digest and the salt is necessary (for me, anyway). Sometimes when youre riding a long time/distance and youre hot, the thought of eating anything, never mind a Gu which can be disgusting, is not worth thinking about. But these taste so good I have never felt like that ... definitely recommend if you like the taste of salted caramel anything.

> 3 dayIn my opinion, this is THE BEST tasting power gel on the market. GU has really hit a homerun with this one. A lot of their fruit flavors are pretty disgusting, and the Espresso is kind of grainy. This salted caramel literally tastes like youre eating straight-up caramel from the sundae bar!! My wife and I run 25-30 miles a week with long runs every week, and weve come to appreciate these quick fuel sources. She generally hates these types of gels, but this is the one flavor and brand that she will actually use. Plus, the added caffeine really helps provide some energy for those last few miles on a long run.

> 3 dayI waffled between 4 and 5 stars on this one but ultimately went with 5 because this Gu fulfills its purpose perfectly: it delivers an extra hit of sodium in a largely non-revolting manner. (If youre new to Gu: most flavors have ~60mg Sodium while a few special ones have more; salted caramel has 125mg.) For me, getting the extra sodium in a delivery system that has a good chance of not being horked up into the cheering crowd (of elderly speed walkers - Im not a track star here) is crucial, and this Gu does that. Some finer points on flavor -- upon civilized taste testing it is rather like a tube of cut rate salted caramel, and out on a run where it counts the salty notes come through strong and help overcome the sweetness a bit. (A plus, for me, because its the cloying sweetness of the other non-fruit flavors that often results in the aforementioned horking.)
