It’s larger than 8 inches. My outbound flight was with Spirit and it was fine. It fit under the seat. My return flight was with Frontier. They made everyone measure before boarding. Frontier charged me $99. The other two dimensions were fine but it was larger than 8 inches. In this bag’s defense though, I saw someone else was charged $99 for a regular sized Jansport backpack. So I think Frontier is just too overzealous.

Since on our last flight we had 2 underseat bags that were a 1/4” too deep, they rejected it and charged us $99 each to carry them on, we got these for our next trip. As long as we don’t use the expandable zipper, it fits Spirit & Frontier’s free personal item sizing. They are very comfortable, lots of padding in the arm straps. Padding to protect a laptop/tablet. Lots of room. Comfortable handles on top & side. Backpack straps easily unclip from bottom and tucks into a pocket at the top. Wet pocket. The main compartment has a X luggage strap to hold in clothes, etc when opened - very nice feature. They really thought about details in designing this bag. It seems to be nice quality. My husband and I both are thrilled with the bags.

Bought for my recent Spirit flight. I was pulled out of line to verify my bag fit the personal item sizer. Not sure why as mine was definitely smaller than many around me. I knew it fit because I had measured before I bought and tested it in the sizer myself. It easily fit [it is smaller than the 18x14x8 measurements]. Another gal had to pay $100 for her personal item being too large. It held a bathing suit, kindle reader, headphones, toiletries, owala water bottle, socks & light jacket.

Just returned from a trip to California, the backpack was able to hold all my clothes in place with the nice little suitcase strap clips inside. Great to have a way to keep my battery pack inside the bookbag! Tons of pockets, including one that snugly held my 32ox water bottle. No problems with size when flying (Spirit). I would compare it to a soft sided suitcase.

Just recently went on a trip overseas, and this suitcase was able to hold extra ski pants, ski jacket, long Johns, pair of jeans, socks, boots, large toiletries kit….. and the list goes on. It fit under seat on planes. I Love the fact that it zippers open like a suitcase.

I was breaking my back using my old computer bag for travel. I tried modding it and even gutting it to make space and reduce the weight, but I was just spinning the wheel to no avail. This bag is a great balance of budget, beauty, and benefit. I love that you can hide the shoulder straps and convert it. All of the pockets are great. The space is so versatile. My massive gaming/work (mostly gaming) laptop fits in without having to fight the spacing or the zipper and it still fits comfortably and checks in fine as a personal item on any plane travel provioder. The water bottle holder ripped a little bit, and even though I am not gentle with it, probably should have held out better. That is where the balance of budget comes into play, though. Nevertheless, this has been my best friend on travel. I even use it as a pillow on long flights hahah.

Fit perfectly. I didn’t overstuff. They did ask me to measure each flight, but it always fit! March 2023 flight.

The travel bag seems well made and had a lot if compartments. I only used it once on a road trip. Looking forward to traveling as a personal item on flight
