Perfect for 2 year old birthday. To make it immediately play-with-able I took all the wrappings off and placed tools in the carrier within the box. Huge hit

Our 1 year old loves this! We removed the bolts/small pieces since he puts everything in his mouth still, but he loves playing with the rest of it. He loves having tools like his daddy to work around the house. The head of the hammer has gotten a little loose, but hasn’t actually fallen off.

My two and a half year old granddaughter is just busy, busy, busy all the time!! Bought this for Christmas 2012 and right away she loved the hammer and started pounding. everything works and goes together very well. Its all wood and no splinters.. its all smooth. I feel comfortable with her playing with it.. parts are all large enough that shes not even going to try to put them in her mouth. she will be able to keep everything together and in the tool box which is great. holes all seem to match up so there isnt any frustration there. very nice little toolbox.

For my granddaughter and she loves it. Teaches hand eye coordination and keeps her busy in her play world! Great gift for boys and girls.

My son got this as a gift (hes 3). We had the Melissa and Doug toolbox and its okay but this one is so much better. The pieces are way more fun to play with (the gears are awesome!) and it seems more durable. I just wish it came with a few more pieces like the gears, nails, screws, etc.
