I had some old 25 gage speaker wire hooked up to my Dyanaco A25 speakers with a Sony amp rated at 100 watts per channel. No matter what adjustments I did, with speaker placement or adjusting the bass and treble, the sound quality was not up to par. The room is pretty well treated when it comes to sound (full carpeting, padded sofas and chairs, etc.). I wasnt sure what to do next. YouTube and internet searches said that 16 or 14 gage speaker wire (cable) would help with the sound. I found that hard to believe. However, I decided to try this product. Lo and behold, my sound quality improved greatly!! a very noticeable difference. The price compared to other 14 gage wires on the market led me to this one. Not disappointed in any way. The rationale for the larger diameter wire (cable) is compared to a small diameter pipe trying to push through a large amount of water. You need more force (amps) to push the water (current ) through the pipe (wire). this puts a strain on the amp and also results in loss of fidelity coming out of the speaker. Going to a larger diameter pipe (cable) eleveates his problem. I read that 16 gage wire will also work on runs of 50 feet or less. But for the low cost of the 14 gage I decided to go that route. the wire was easy to work with. the two strands separated easily. Also, there was no problem stripping the plastic off the copper. I am very satisfied with my stereo system now. Kudos.

Ive been an electrician for 35 years, so I know wire all too well. Ive ordered wire supposedly 14 gauge, however, many times wire from China isnt really 14 gauge. This wire is a true 14 gauge wire. Also, Ive seen wire sold as copper, and its actually copper covered aluminum. This wire is 100% copper with very low resistance. Dont be fooled by others, This is the real deal! Its nice and flexible (unlike THHN) and arrived promptly.
