I love DIY home projects and it seems like I ALWAYS need a tape measure handy. But of course I can never find one when I need it! This little guy will be a nice addition - on the plus side, its lightweight, but the case is also all plastic (the tape measure itself is metal). The auto locking feature is great and will be useful when your hands are otherwise occupied. The release is easy to use. It doesnt have a belt clip. Its definitely not meant for heavy duty use, but for your DIY projects or to bring to the furniture or home improvement store, its probably fine.

This is a replacement for a Stanley 12 ft. tape I have carried for 20 years. It was metal and I had removed the belt clip for pocket use. That tape disappeared two months ago, and I requested this tape to replace it. I was surprised how difficult it is to find a good tape with inch and mm readings. I settled on this one even though it has a plastic case. The lock works well and the retract feature is as expected. The case is thicker than the old Stanley tape and feels bulkier in my pocket, even though it is only a few mm different. It is a good tape, just not my old faithful.

So clean and functional, you can also customize it with your favorite Army decal or sticker. It autolocks which is huge.

This tape measure does what a tape measure should do, and it does it in style. From a functional standpoint, the tape stays straight and stiff for at least three feet, so you dont have to worry about holding the end or hooking it on to the object youre measuring. The numbers are very easy to read, both in English and metric. The locking mechanism works easily and holds securely. And it rewinds quickly.

Lock is not as sxolid as it could be. Slips too easy.

Looks great and it works great, sturdy and smooth

Obviously not heavy-duty, but it is a nice tape measure for general use. Easy to read, and the plastic case is lightweight but seems pretty sturdy. The measuring tape itself isnt flimsy. It does start to droop a little by its own weight around 3 1/2 feet (starts to get a bit unwieldy around 5 feet), but it doesnt collapse and completely bend in half. Hitting the retract button feels a lot less dangerous than other tape measures Ive had. The stiffness of the measuring tape keeps it from flailing and flopping around even though it snaps back quickly. A little expensive for what it is, but if you just find that you sometimes need a tape measure, this one should do the job for a while.

Not sure if there is such a thing as a high end tape measure, but this just looks luxe. Maybe its the simple black with no big logos or designs. Works great, like every other tape measure, but the look is a little more special.
