> 3 dayI currently own a MacBook that I have been using for Web Development and graphic Design. At times I will be comparing my experience between my currently MacBook which has some age on it, its from 2016 and still running strong and this laptop.

> 3 dayJust wanted to drop a review here saying its super simple to add another 8gb of ram to this notebook. HP provides helpful repair videos on youtube for the DY-1000 series of notebooks that show you how to replace a ram module. If you notice on the video, theres a second, completely empty ram slot beside the one with the 8gb stick that comes from the factory. This laptop supports 16gb of ram (2x8gb sticks), per the support manual from HPs own website. Caution, if you somehow mess it up your warranty may be voided. HP does not recommend you do any sort of upgrades or repairs on this notebook. But, if you want 16gb of ram (and you do) its very easy to upgrade.

> 3 dayI bought this laptop in September for my daughter to do online classes. It is a good laptop. Loads up fast but too issues. First problem the fan makes loud noises. This scared my daughter. She had to shut down laptop inorder for noise to stop. The screen blanks out and restarts on its own in the middle of doing school work. Sometimes while using the laptop the screen starts to show different colours . The laptop has to be turned off in order for that problem to go. I have chatted with HP assistants several times. A BIOS was done and a factory reset. Problems still persist. HP said they will have to take back the laptop for their technicians to look at and they will call me. No one calls. Its a lot of back and forth with HP. Amazon can not assist because the window is already closed. I do not think I was sold a new laptop. Yesterday my son was doing online class and the laptop froze and started making funny noises. I cant take any more issues. Only two months I have purchased this laptop. I should not be having all the problems. My daughter needs to have a good laptop to do her online classes. I am very disappointed. I can not afford for $600 to go down the drain and definitely can not afford to purchase a laptop.

> 3 dayLaptop has continually disconnected from WiFi since being turned on. My wife spent 2 hours on the phone with HP to resolve the issue, which is a problem with HP laptops. Issue was not resolved by HP!!!!! Dont wasted your money, and more importantly your time!

> 3 dayThis laptop is for my personal use. After having it for only 6-7 months, and using it a little each day, i am no longer able to access my wi-fi connections. I keep getting the message that I have a hardware problem with my wifi adapter. A brand new laptop should not be experiencing these type of problems with in just a few months. HP support is trying to say it is a software issue and the warranty for that ended 12/20 but my laptop is still under warranty until September 2021. Very frustrating to deal with HP on this. I was forwarded 4 times and all I could get were people that wanted to sell me different service plans.

> 3 dayI have spent a bit of time with this laptop and it functions well. It is quick and I have found no problems. The reason for the four star rating is that like all other computers in this price range, the hinged area is weak and will likely eventually become loose.

Greater than one weekI bought this laptop to get around the green screen drama. I have a high regard for HP products and that they install intel processors. This laptop filled the bill at the price I wanted to spend. I purchased it for less than $500,oo.
