> 24 hourThe finger reader will read immediately or it may take a few times. I dont use the face recognition. Anyway, the phone is amazing its the best phone Ive ever had. The camera spec are great and the battery life can last me up to 2 day! Great buy for the price of the phone! Update a year and 3 months later the finger print scanner has now stopped working. However the phone is durable.

> 24 hourExcellent and phenomenal phone overall for the price. Dual SIM is very easy to use and understand. Screen quality, speed and overall functioning of the phone is outstanding including the camera. camera and screen resolution quality is superior to the Samsung phones. The only thing missing is availability of good selection of phone cases especially phone holsters. I wish this company would build in the same functionality regarding icons organization and other things that Samsung has, thats the only negative but now that Ive been using it frequently, I have noticed sometimes the speed is a little slow, both streaming videos and navigating

> 24 hourI live in rural Indiana and the phone has no issues with working on the AT&T network. Because of where I live I do not always get 4g LTE coverage but the phone still works flawlessly. When I am in a bigger area the phone does connect to 4G LTE with no issues. These phones still out perform any previous phone I have had and cost a fraction of the money.

> 24 hourWhen I first read the Huawei/Honor was bring out the 8X I was super stoked. I had the 7X and loved it, but I wanted something that was quicker and had more native storage. I followed the release of the 8X and was crestfallen when it was not released for the US, but recently I was informed that the JSN-L23 version worked for the US. I checked it out and verified the bands and became a very happy camper. I ordered this phone for my early birthday present. The first device I received was awesome... but it was the wrong color. Amazon sent me out a replacement that was correct so that I have this gorgeous blue phone in my hand. I hed my wife give the first phone a try and she really liked it so I had to order her one as well. PROS * Price - You get what you pay for and then some. This phone could easily sell for double and still be a decent buy. * Battery life - no complaints here. I can go all day and still have plenty of juice left. Im not a gamer but I travel every day for work and use my phone for my paperwork, consulting maps, and as my ereader. * Screen - my first thought on a 6.5 1080p screen was, will it look good enough? Yes, it does. It looks great. It is nice and bright. The notch is not too big and leaves plenty of room for notifications and status icons. The pre-installed screen protector was a very nice addition, as well. * Hardware - This a fast phone. The build is Gorilla glass on the front and back with metal edges, and the included clear case adds extra protection. It has a nice heft in the hand. The fingerprint sensor is dead on in the proper location and is very snappy. Game performance is good and the sound can get more than loud enough. I havent encountered any lag or stuttering in my day to day use thus far. * Cell Reception - I am on Cricket which uses AT&Ts network. I havent had any issues with cell reception. While the L23 version has bands 2, 4, and 5 it does lack bands 12 and 17. As I said above I travel daily for my job and a lot of that is by interstate and I can say that the only areas I have bad reception are the areas that have always had bad reception. I have 4G almost all the time. * Software - my phone is still on Android 8.1.0. From what I have found online Honor pulled the impending update to 9.0 due to some issues that came to light but they still plan on putting it out once these are resolved. I cant speak on EMUI as I use Nova Launcher on all my phones. CONS * Size - No matter what people say size does matter. This is a large phone. I am a big guy with big hands and it can still be a stretch to reach across the screen with my thumb. Hopefully anyone buying a 6.5 phone understands that that is part of the deal. * Camera - while I have not had any issues with the camera I have hear that some people do. Im not a photographer so as long as the image is clear I am fine with it. My pictures thus far have all looked good, but just know that this is a point of contention with some. * Micro USB - this, to me, was really disappointing. I knew about it before I bought the phone but it still bothered me. I have plenty of micro USB cables and all from previous phones (Im looking at you, Honor 7X) but it would have been much nicer to have had USB C. The bottom line is that I am very happy with this device. It is a killer bargain for the price, plus it really turns heads with its looks. Buy it.

> 24 hourThe phone itself works perfectly so far, but I wasnt able to activate it. Its listed as working with Straight Talk, but you specifically need their AT&T SIM card. Dont make the same mistake I made and order the Verizon card.

> 24 hourI absolutely love this phone! Great buy and great price. When texting though it seems the touch is a bit off. You do have to get used to placement of fingers. Takes nice pictures. Screen display looks better than higher priced phones. I would definately buy this brand again. I bought this after breaking my Asus Zenphone which is also a great phone for the price. Really dont know which I like better but very satisfied with this purchase for sure

> 24 hourThis is my second Huawei product. I like that for the price point, you get a phone that can stand up to higher priced phones from the Big Three. I tend to abuse my phones as Im a maintenance man and my phones are exposed to dust, vibration, and scratches and drops. Screen: decent resolution. Has features such as blue light reduction. Id suggest getting a screen protector as my last Huawei phone was prone to small scratches. Standard protections should be fine. In the middle of the screen. At the top, the camera is located. Occasionally content is blocked in this upper area. As if the screen doesnt take in account that the camera is located here. Minor, minor issue. Only a problem occasionally when looking at PDF blueprints and manuals. Body: I believe its glass. I could be wrong. But it is beautiful. I love the placement of the fingerprint reader. I added my two pointer fingers and a secondary finger. Even if I scratch up my hands or have glue on them, its fast and responsive. Having the third offset finger really helps in this. Camera: I havent used the camera as much as my Huawei Mate, but so far its AI camera is of quality. Very sharp and detailed images. Im able to zoom in front distance and take pictures of small lables from a distance. My hands shake sometimes (medical issues, chemical exposure) and the sharpening mode really helps. Specially when zoomed in on text. Wifi/mobile data: There are some areas where I wish the antenna was stronger. The Huawei mate seems to have a faster connection. This may be due to the Mate being a version focused to the USA, and the 8x being an international version. Due to the restrictions the U.s. gov is trying to put on Huawei phones. But, in normal use, I dont have any issues. Occasionally Bluetooth fails, but turning it off then back on, it works perfectly. This may be more to do with my cars connection, and not an actual problem with the phone. I just noticed it happens with Huawei phones more than my old Samsung. All in all, its an excellent phone for most uses. Get a case. Get a screen protector. Youll be 100% happy with it. I just abuse phones so Im slightly more critical. I really wish major brands got hip to the game and made a more durable case. Id love something with more shock proof functions.

> 24 hourI wasnt happy about how Amazon packaged the phone but it showed up undamaged and as advertised. I bought it through MVD to get the correct JSN-L23 so I could use AT&T and I got what I paid for. It came in perfect condition with a screen protector already placed on the screen. It also came with a phone case, charger, head phones and the pin to get the sim tray out. The phone goes over 2 days on a full charge. Way better than the phone I had before.

> 24 hourI had never use Huawei before until Trump make all those false statement about them without any proof! Best phone ever, very good battery life, crystal clear pictures, great phone specifications for the money. It is so good I got my mom one.
