Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO Add-on Camera (Not Compatible with DXR-8), White

We love this camera for our baby! We’ve been using it daily since she was born in the winter and have not had any issues! Pros: - does not need WiFi so we don’t worry about anyone hacking us - easy to add a second camera - camera filters out ambient noise very well (baby’s sound machine) - picture quality is great - The monitor battery life is also quite good, lasts about 3 hours when left continuously on with brightest resolution. Con -Not sure if it’s just this camera or all cameras, but it is difficult to see the baby in her play yard with night vision when the camera is pointed at the side of the play yard. We haven’t mounted the camera so we have been placing it on furniture and angling it down into the crib or pointing it at the side. - wish this had a more standard power plug like to match iPhone but it is handy that the plug is a circle so no need to flip it over and try to make it fit like a puzzle piece - the camera has a small green light near the lens when it is powered on that can easily stimulate and distract baby. We put some dark tape over it to cover it to help make the room as dark as possible. Finally thoughts: - Would recommend getting the wide angle lens separately for this camera to improve your view. - We also purchased extra power cords for both sides of our bed and living room so this can stay powered up at all times.

Upgraded our old Infant Optics to the pro version when one of the cameras went dead after a few years of use. Wow! The image on the pro is crystal clear, even in night mode. What an upgrade! The noise reduction has also been helpful with the kids white noise machine. Glad we upgraded!

We found this camera very easy to set up and add to our existing Infant Optics system. It’s also easy to toggle between camera views on the monitor.

The system is good, but I do not like that I can’t see both cameras at once. Wish I had researched that a little more before purchasing. I have a newborn in 1 room and a 2.5 year old in another room. I hate that I can only hear if 1 wakes up in the middle of the night. Switching views is easy yes but but I’m doing that in the middle of the night. I was hoping to have a dual screen monitor.

The first package I received was as expected and the monitor and camera work great then I got a separate camera that I can add such as this but I have a lot of trouble connecting the power on it I think it has a shortage inside the camera because the light doesn’t come on or connect to the monitor.

I finally have time to write this review. We purchased one of these back in 2016 with birth of our 1st son and absolutely loved it. Even wrote a great review about. Now with the birth of our 2nd child, we immediately went to purchase the same thing again. But weve been having nothing but trouble w/ the power supply. They changed the power supply, which has proven to be a lower quality item (in spite of them advertising it as an improvement), and as I tried to get support (I didnt have much time as I expressed to the support reps that my child was born w/ a congenital heart issue and we were buried w/ medical appointments), the level of push-back I received from their support was ridiculous (including not even being able to address their emails to the correct person). After many emails of them making ME troubleshoot THEIR PRODUCT, they finally sent me a replacement, with a bunch of hurdles for me to jump through. Great! I receive the new product. Time to move on? NOPE! Now the new product makes a loud humming noise. I again reached out to their support and again, THEY WANTED ME TO START TROUBLESHOOTING IT AGAIN!!!! At this point, I became beyond furious and told the rep to just not contact me anymore. Im beyond this company. From my experience, they felt the need to fix something that wasnt broken. And their support team is anything but supportive. I would not recommend this product nor this company.

We purchased an additional camera after purchasing a second monitor and not realizing each camera can pair with only one monitor (but one monitor can pair with multiple cameras). The difference between this additional camera and the original one that came in the monitor + camera bundle is noticeable. It looks like there is a film across the video from this camera compared to the original one (theres not, I did check). I thought maybe we received a knock off at first but the camera is identical in every way except picture quality. See the attached comparison, the top is this add-on camera and the bottom is the one the original one. I did reverse the pairing to make sure it wasnt the monitor that had worse quality but the same thing happens when reversed. Its not AWFUL but the original one is so crisp and vivid in comparison. Just be aware.

We’ve been using the DRX-8 for a few years and love it, so when this one came out I wanted to upgrade to the bigger screen. So far I love everything about this camera— the picture is amazing, and the features are great. Best camera ever.

This camera, paired with the original monitor set is fairly easy to set up and connects well to the monitor. The scan feature between the different camera views is convenient and transitions fairly smoothly.

Ive gone through so many monitors and none of the quality like thus one. Love it...already purchased another camera to connect to our system
