not recommend for 4 gauge did not come with adapters for the 4 gauge i will not buy this again..........

This unit uses the standard fuses. It works great going from 1/0 to #4 wire. The cover screws down and not just snap in place, which I really like and does not leave much exposed to get shorted or allow for junk to collect. The base is very sturdy compared to other units I have tried that broke when screwing down. I also like that the mounting screws are on the outside on all 4 corners. No chance of a screw coming loose inside and shorting to ground.

Very rugged and secure. Using this in a battery box going to 1500W inverter. I like that the protective cover is secured by screws so it wont just fall off like some other similar.
