> 24 hourThis is a very good educational program. I took French years ago in school, and it is sharpening skills and teaching new ones.

> 24 hourI have been using this program for a week now and am totally into it. Its actually fun and amusing. I was debating buying Rosetta Stone for a few months but was nervous to spend that much money without knowing what it was like. I thought for $20 I will give Instant Immersion a try and can say now, that I would definitely pay more than $20 something dollars. It really works and is helping me remember a lot from the french lessons I took a few years ago. I have a MACbook and unlike the other review I can say that I have had no problem with this program. I have tried using workbooks and lessons and flash cards for quite some time and none of it is as effective as this has been in a matter of days.

> 24 hourI bought the French Instant Immersion program from Costco. Level 1 disk 1 and 2 are OK. Now when I inserted the Level 2 Disk 1 and 2, they come as though the program is intended for Chinese speakers who would like to learn French. A total disaster because I intended to Learn more French as I am an advanced student. I think I would go for a higher end program such as Rosetta Stone. I would spend more money but will not be dealing with this kind of nuisance. I would not even place a claim or return it since I bought the program more than 30 days ago.

> 24 hourI absolutely detested this course. The most annoying thing was watching the characters on the screen move their mouths completely out of sync with the words being spoken. It was like watching that 80s character, Max Headroom. I like Max, but I dont want him trying to teach me French.

> 24 hourI got this software as a gift about a month ago, and let me tell you, it was one of the best gifts Ive ever recieved! The thing that most people forget is that this is not Rosetta Stone. Its called Immersion for a reason. One of the best ways for an adult to learn a language is to be surrounded by it, i.e. immersed. For me, I found the software very easy to use. I especially like the fact that I can put some lessons on my Ipod and take them with me when I go to the gym. Definitely makes working out less monotonous! I also like the DVD game. Its very fun, and my little brother even likes playing it too. So, if youre wanting to learn any language, Instant Immersion is definitely worth every penny.

> 24 hourThis program isnt cohesive at all; it seems to be a bunch of programs packaged together without an overall plan. I really dont think anyone could actually learn a language from this.

> 24 hourSince the software doesnt teach you how to conjugate, I use google translate to comprehend what I am learning, instead of memorizing phrases; anyway the software is teaching me that Where is the shop? is Ou se trouve le magasin. From studying some of the phrases, I noticed that is, is usually est and that google translate confirmed my concern by translating the same pharse to: Ou est le magasin. Are the French simplfying their language or is this software negligence?

> 24 hourI have used Rosetta Stone and this product. I agree that neither are quite what they promise, which is an EASY way to learn a language. For someone to compare this favorably to RS is highly suspicious to me. After multiple failed attempts to get this product to work on my Mac, I went to a PC laptop to actually check it out. This product compares to Rosetta Stone in the way that a fast food hamburger compares to a well-prepared steak. This is really nothing more than a mildly-interactive vocabulary list. Perhaps thats worth the money, but dont confuse it with the advanced learning procedures from Rosetta Stone. My problem with RS is that they do not show you enough direct translation vocabulary. So in that sense, this would be a nice complement to RS. The audio CDs included in this are actual lessons, thus not really helpful for drilling and memorizing. Its really not comparable to RS at all, and any comparison is incredibly unfair. They should take those claims off of their packaging. Ill be demanding a refund for the Mac incompatibility, but otherwise would make use of the money back guarantee. Save yourself the hassle.
