I bought this to build an office computer: word processing, web browsing, watching movies, and the like (no gaming, rendering, music production, or video processing). It works great for its intended purposes and I would highly recommend this processor. Since its not used for the aforementioned other tasks, I cant rate it based on those uses.

The latest i5 Rocket Lake absolutely crushes my old 9th gen i7! Its just a bit of a shame that the Intel UHD 750 graphics isnt as good as the Xe graphics featured in Tiger Lake laptops.

This is a great processor for the money, around 150. I built 2 desktops at the same time, one using Arctic Silver paste, the included Intel cpu cooler and the other using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO V2. With room temp about 73 degrees F, the Cooler Master keeps the processor about 10-15 degrees C cooler at idle and the stock fan will let the processor shoot up to almost 90 degrees just when doing simple Windows updates. Definitely buy an after market CPU cooler! Runs Steam and EA games without any issues. Installed them in MSI Gaming Force Carbon motherboards with 16G of Crucial Vengeance RAM.

If youre looking to build a mid-range system and either dont need dedicated graphics or are waiting for the prices of graphics cards to return to the realm of sanity, this CPU is an excellent option, especially if paired with a B560 motherboard. If you are planning on using a separate graphics card, check out the cheaper i5-11400F. While the upper tiers of the newly-released 11th Gen Rocket Lake have received criticism for poor value relative to 10th Gen and poor performance relative to Ryzen 5000 series, the 11400 is a solid value. Its a solid improvement over the 10400, and it is currently extremely difficult to acquire AMD processors with integrated GPUs.

Intel really did themselves a favour by pricing this sub $200. Absolute steal of a deal considering. No, you cant overclock it but overclocking isnt everything. GPU prices dont seem to be going down anytime soon so ill see what comes up in a few months but didnt want to build a PC i cant even use and this is an good stand in. Currently playing Tomb Raider (first one) on high settings with an average 40 fps (Ohhhh, its not 60. Relax).
