> 3 dayI got the MSI Z690 Edge Wifi motherboard to go along with this CPU. I am super happy with it. It runs cool with my AIO, and pairs well with my RTX 3080 12GB. What more could someone want?

> 3 dayGot a bad one. Worked like crazy trying to figure out the issue and on board video was working some but not always. Sent it back and got another that works amazing. Water coolers dont have the correct spacer for this chip but I checked the website and got one for under 10. So factor that into your water cooling cost.

Greater than one weekGotta sat, a way more reasonable unit than the I9, which is only 3% better according to benchmarks. Buy this for sure!

Greater than one week7 years ago in March 2016 I built my first PC and decided to get the flagship I7-6700K at the time. Deemed to be future proof for 5+ years, which was in fact was true.

> 3 dayNo doubt, 12th gen Intel processors are a marvel of computing technology. Although there is a continuing tug of war between Intel and AMD in this regard. I personally chose Intel Core i7 (12700K) with inbuilt UHD graphics for my newly built desktop PC. For those, who dont want to use a separate and usually exorbitantly priced graphics cards, this processor is a very good alternative. It can handle most of the processing intensive rendering of Blender easily with its unlocked overclocking (obviously you have to use the supporting motherboard, i.e. presently available Z690 chipset motherboards). It can also smoothly handle almost all the tasks of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop with no hiccups. Not to mention the support of 4K video with HDR if you are looking for some decent and the latest entertainment in your PC. I would suggest this 12th Gen i7 to those who want to use their PC for content creation purpose in the best possible way and also at the same time save some money (compared to 12th Gen i9, which would ideally be the best anyway, but costlier too). The price is still at a high level. Hopefully this comes down soon with the launch of Intels 13th Gen processors!

> 3 dayUpgraded my gaming PC from an old i7-6700k and this thing is FAST! It does run pretty hot though, so make sure your cpu cooler is up to the task and you have good airflow in your case. Bonus feature: Doubles as a space heater in the cooler months!

> 3 dayI need a new PC mainly to process photos. I was considering AMD Ryzen 7 5800X when I read the benchmark for Intels 12th generation CPUs are better than the 5800X running Adobe software. But it has a bad reputation for hogging power. The attached screen shot shows that power consumption slightly exceed the TDP of 125W during Lightroom batch export. But to my surprise, once the export is finished, power consumption is very low, even less than my AMD 4800H based laptop. Background processing uses the more efficient E-cores.

> 3 dayIntel obviously isnt a slouch when it comes to processors. However, this one really hits the sweet spot between performance and price. Well see what happens when AMD releases the Ryzen 7000 series later this year, but if you dont want to wait, generally prefer Intel, and dont want to spring for an i9, this processor will absolutely take what you can throw at it.
