> 3 dayIntel Core i7-12700K Desktop Processor 12 (8P+4E) Cores up to 5.0 GHz Unlocked LGA1700 is one monster of a chip. I have an 8th Gen I7 that is quick but this one is in a world all by itself.

30-03-2025I need a new PC mainly to process photos. I was considering AMD Ryzen 7 5800X when I read the benchmark for Intels 12th generation CPUs are better than the 5800X running Adobe software. But it has a bad reputation for hogging power. The attached screen shot shows that power consumption slightly exceed the TDP of 125W during Lightroom batch export. But to my surprise, once the export is finished, power consumption is very low, even less than my AMD 4800H based laptop. Background processing uses the more efficient E-cores.
