> 3 dayIt appears to work but I haven’t been able to really put it through its paces yet, because - surprise! - it didn’t have a stock cooler on it! I checked this item closely and read reviews which mentioned a stock heatsink and fan, or mentioned the buyer de-lidding it, which they couldn’t have done if it didn’t come with a cooler! I don’t know what happened with mine but I had to run out quick and get whatever cooler my local store had. And it’s not good enough, a quick prime95 torture test pegged the temps up above 190F. PLEASE BE CAREFUL buying this; apparently there’s no way to tell if it comes with a cooler or not.

> 3 dayGreat CPU, just make sure you have a top level cooler as it does run hot.

> 3 dayMake sure you have plenty of cooling. Mild O.C. and a lot of cooling runs strong and cool

> 3 dayLots of new Ryzen chips out there that are amazing and offer great bang for the buck. But if you are just upgrading an 1151 socket then this gets you pretty close to the best performance from the newer i7s for cheaper. Still going strong in 2019.

Greater than one weekDe-lidded because of the sucky thermal interface material. Now its a killer CPU with much lower temps. Fix this problem Intel!

> 3 dayIncredibly fast processor. Overclocked to 5.0Ghz with ease. At a time when AMD is catching up to Intel and in many ways surpassing them, this is still a solid option from the blue side. May not seem worth the price increase over the i5-8600K for gaming use, but the hyperthreading makes this CPU much more future-proof, especially as games become optimized for use with higher core counts and hyperthreading. Paired with 3000mhz+ ram and GTX 1070 or better, expect insane FPS even in AAA titles. Obviously its also great for rendering, as it has an iGPU that can take on extra tasks while the dedicated GPU is being used for CUDA rendering in programs such as Adobe Premiere.
