This potty is perfect for both situations. I searched for something with steps so I won’t have to remove multiple things out of the way when we use it. Our little one just climbs up on his own and sits comfortably. The ladder has different levels and is easy to assemble and shift to correct height. The seat has a cushion so it’s not uncomfortable to sit on and the splash guard is great.

> 3 dayLoved this concept. Learned quickly that it was pretty unsteady. Tried to make height adjustments but finally used some child locks to secure to each side. This worked for a while until it collapsed and my 4 year old fell on my 15 month old. Wish it had an attachment option that was more secure.

> 3 dayI really want to like this. But its to tall on the lowest setting so it moves and makes it unsafe. Also since its to tall, the boys pee goes between the seat and the adult seat so I have to clean both seats instead of one. For learning this is not a great option. Other then that its east to assemble and does fold nicely. But will be returning.
