> 3 dayI love the JBL brand but this new speaker occasionally skips while playing music. You would think that maybe it’s dying so it’s letting you know that it needs to be put on the charger when it starts cracking in the music it’s not clear. But it’s not the case. I don’t think it was me that well the JBL flip 4 is way better than the 5.

> 3 dayThe speaker itself is really loud. As you can see in the video, I barely have this turned up and the speakers on the side are bouncing. Changing the song forward is really easy, just push the play button twice (double tap). The only thing you cant do is change it back. I can have my phone away and Im still able to turn the volume up or down with just pushing the buttons of the speaker. Youll see that I have a case on my speaker, its the RichSmile Silicone Carrying Travel Case for JBL FLIP 5 Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker. Even with the case on, it doesnt alter the sound that comes out of this thing. I havent tested the waterproof on this however, I have taken this at the beach and in the mountains and the sound on this is amazing. Easy to connect to either types of phones and even tablets. Really am amazed with the sound quality on this speaker.

> 3 dayGreat upgrade from the Flip4. More bass and better battery life. Easy Bluetooth connectivity. We find ourselves connecting to the TV’s that don’t have soundbars since the Flip5 is so good.

Greater than one weekGreat speaker! Battery last long. Looks good. Sounds good. Not too much bass, which is what I was concerned about. It would be nice to have an EQ, but no complaints here as a temporary portable device.

> 3 dayI am only giving this 3 stars because nowhere in the listing does it say it uses its own proprietary charger. This means, if you misplace your charger, you cant use what everyone else uses these days for chargers, a micro USB cord. I had to purchase a replacement charger from JBL today, and am not happy about that. Great speaker, but please use micro USB chargers, JBL!

Greater than one weekLove the unit! Ordered because I needed a smaller more compact music device that is bluetooth and has decent sound. I have an ECOXGEAR Boulder and an old JVC KABOOM for really cranking. The kaboom is on its last leg and Kaboom is not bluetooth either. Both units are very large, the Kaboom sound is excellent, the EcoX is sound is not as clean. Portability was my goal also plus great sound. I knew based on size that the JBL would not get as loud as my large boxes but that was not my intention. I listened to a JBL 2Go unit that a friend of mine had and the sound was clear and unique for the small size. Pretty amazing for the size. At that point I knew JBL sound was good so I read the reviews online. The Flip5 was the new flip version, very portable, quality size, great sound, 12 hrs playback time per charge, caseable for protection, and decent price. The sound quality is better than the ECOXGEAR but you cant match the loudness simply because of the size. Nothing Ive heard matches my old JVC KABOOM but it is no longer manufactured. Plus, it us too big to toss in a bag anyway. Thia little Flip5 is a quality sound device. It is pretty amazing. I would recommend to anybody. You will be pleasantly surprised.
