JYFT 10AWG(6mm²) Solar Extension Cable with PV Compatible Female and Male Connector (10FT Red + 10FT Black)

> 24 hourThis is just what I expected from a quality 10 gauge solar cable. The wire is flexible and has a soft weather-proof jacket. The connectors are standard MC4, so they are waterproof as well. One end is bare, making this a good choice for custom lengths or for running into an electrical box. I do not see any reason not to go with this cable if the price is reasonable as you read this. I would definitely buy more from this brand.

> 24 hourSummary: When it comes to extension cables, two rules of thumb: a) buy the best cables you can (be it quality or size), and b) run the shortest length you can get away with. Observations: These are sold in four lengths: 6, 10, 20 and 30 feet. If you estimate a pair of MC4 connector at $1/set, then the relative price per foot (which is how wire is sold) is respectively (and dividing by two for a the pair): 6ft ($1.17), 10ft ($1.05), 20ft ($0.78), and 30ft ($0.75). So if you need additional 10AWG wire for other projects, you might want to consider the longer lenghts. Pros: Good fit & finish; cable is clearly marked 1x6.0mm^2, which is equivalent to 10AWG; standard MC-4 connectors. Cons: Single side termination. Conclusion: Rating the 20/30-ft 5-stars, and 6/10-ft at 4-stars (based on cost per foot of wire).

> 24 hourI put a couple of solar panels on top of our Metris. These are the type of cables that work with them. Dont really need 10awg for serial connection with high voltage/low amps but you do if connecting the other way. I do plan to work on a system for home as well. These are stranded tinned copper.

> 24 hourI added Anderson power pole connectors to the other end and these cables are working well in my solar setup.

> 24 hourThis is not a big brand one, but the cable is well built with good quality. Use it to extend the portable solar panel which has MC4 connectors. The other end is opened without connectors that you can make your own whatever conversion adapter or hardwired into the solar controller. The wire is a stranded type, not a single solid one, so it offers great flexibility. Price is reasonable, good build quality with sturdy MC4 connectors in ~AWG10 cable which can carry up to 30A. Recommended solar panels extension cables. Keep in mind that they are in male and female MC4 connectors on one end of each cable, and the other end is open for you to hardwired or cramp your own connector.

> 24 hourThese cables have extra thick insulation (just over 1/4 inch), and look like the ones in my current solar-panel installation. The wire is stranded tinned copper. The connectors are installed with proper polarity to connect to your controller, and I am using them to couple additional panels (additional connectors were required). The connectors are not the quick-disconnect type, but made for a permanent installation. I expect these cables to last for the life of the installation.

> 24 hourI love the 10 foot length. This is a very usable length for getting where I need it, and without creating waste. The connectors are all sealed well to prevent water from getting in, and they feel very well made. I love the stranded copper for dealing with high amps and proven longevity. Overall great cables. Highly recommended.

> 24 hourI have been buying used solar panels and building a system as a diy setup and have been buying the extension leads such as these and they seem to be of good quality. I stripped back the wire and scraped off the tin coating and was able to expose copper so that is good. No aluminum or stainless wire. The connectors are also god quality and have seals. All in all for the selling price these extensions are a good choice. Hope this helps and if it did please click the helpful button below and thanks.

> 24 hour-These are solid medium duty MC-4 extension cables. -At the time of this writing, I do not know the asking price, making it difficult to assess whether they are a good value or not. -However, I have tested a lot of JYFT brand items, and the price always seems very competitive, and better quality than similarly prices chinese brands. -JYFT is a chinese brand, but theyve been around for 15 years, not a fly by night brand. -They specialize in cables, so theyre better than a generic chinese brand. -If you have any issues they have multiple ways to contact customer support. -Ive tried several other cables from this brand, theyre all good quality and good price - solid medium grade or even upper-medium grade. -These are no exception to the quality I was expecting - cable is medium duty, connectors are good gauge copper. -Some people were complaining that the material isnt copper. Thats not accurate - they have a weatherproof coating on top of the copper, giving it the silver color, but the core is solid copper.
