Kingston 480GB A400 SATA 3 2.5 Internal SSD SA400S37/480G - HDD Replacement for Increase Performance

Got this for my desktop I just built as I was using an old laptop hard drive to save money. Given some of the reviews I was somewhat skeptical but figured anything would be better then what I have. Windows 10 installed perfectly fine and I have had no errors or crashes after about 2 weeks so far. Boot time decreased from 10 plus minutes to under a minute to steam up and running and ready to start a game. Glad I purchased this, and even if it does fail in the future as some people have stated it could, Im only down 30 bucks and I keep all important files on an external anyway, so it doesnt worry me.

I installed this drive in an HP tablet and cloned over the Windows 10 OS. I was impressed by the speed increase and the additional capacity allowed me to update Windows 10 to a later version. All was well until last week when I started getting Windows blue screen. The error message was critical process failed, but it would reboot and work OK again. These problems got more frequent until yesterday when it would not boot at all. The message was no OS installed. The drive did not even show up in BIOS. It is completely dead after only 10 months. Now, even if Kingston replaces the drive, I still have to reinstall Windows--a real hassle. I cannot recommend this drive due to unreliability.

A great budget friendly ssd. I was able to install it quickly and had windows 10 installed with no issues.

Using this on my streaming rig for the system drive and storage. I needed to upgrade from HDDs and this was the right price.

I had an old vista computer. I upgraded it to Windows 10 and had no problems using this drive. I cant say anything about how long it might last as I have only had it a few days but so far so good. Good luck!

Changed the hard drive in five minutes and installed the os and it’s better than new. Great price. I used another brand a year ago and I could had this for 20 bucks cheaper.
