Greater than one weekWow ssds are getting affordable. If you are still using a normal spinning hard drive for you main boot drive STOP. Spend the $30-40 bucks to grab one of these and you will never look back.

Greater than one weekI highly recommend cleaning out your older gaming laptop, blowing the lint out out of your fan and thermal vents (mine looked like I cleaned a lint catcher on a clothes dryer. If you really want to MAX out performance, scrap out the old thermal gunk and replace it with this stuff as well as a coating of the Silicon Mod Comp. If youre unfamiliar with this type of this its super easy if youre PATIENT and watch the detailed YouTube videos CAREFULLY. You have to ground yourself and use an electrostatic resistant mat, all in all I spent $130 for past, silicon, a new HDD, and a 2x8gb RAM upgrade. My 8 year old Alienware is at least 100X faster than when I first bought it. Make sure you first remove the battery, hold down the power button for ~30 seconds, ground yourself with a wire wrapped around your wrist and connected to anything thats grounded, and use an electrostatic mat.
