Install was easy. The buttons to release foot platform seldomly work, they are stiff and the mechanism doesnt release. Completely impossible to release one handed.

We bought this for our 4-year old who has arthritis, and struggles with painful knees, particularly on long car rides when her legs just dangle. This foot rest has been wonderful for her. She easily rests her feet, and doesnt have discomfort in her legs like she used to! I definitely recommend it. Update: have had this for almost three months, still 5-stars. My daughter loves it, and that makes us love it. Shes a big kid for her age (95th %ile), she stands up on it and it still holds her up. Hasnt torn up our leather seats, and stays firmly in place. No complaints! 1-year later...still holding up and a huge help. My daughter really appreciates having this. It makes long rides particularly more comfortable for her.

Got this one right on time to switch our daughter’s carseat to face forward and she loves it. Since day one she’s been buckling herself except rare cases where she can’t but it kinda made her feel more “important”because she has her own footrest so her feet are dangling.

Where is the plate for the floor? It’s not study at all.

But my daughter and I were exciting about this product. The main reason...it will keep her feet off of the back of my seat, which is really annoying and gets the seat dirty, especially in the winter. So, assembly was pretty straight forward. Th locking flaps/latches were a little tricky to close (this was a bad sign), but I got it put together without too much hassle. Installing it was fairly simple, though you will have to pull out your car seat to do this. At this point things seemed to pretty decent...well, that was until I tried to adjust the foot rest to make way for the kids to pass through. This is a really important feature as there really isnt much room with the foot rest down. When I tried to adjust the foot rest by pressing the two buttons provided, they would budge...then one would release, but the other would....this was annoying (and it kills your fingers!)...you could get one to release, but the opposite one would get stuck...what the....what?!?!? This has been an ongoing battle and I almost ripped the thing out in an IKEA parking lot to smash it to bits, but gave myself a timeout and came back to it a second try (after my fingers stopped crying out in pain...lol j/k) and was able to get both pins to release the foot rest. With that said, my daughter does like it and it seems to work as intended.... BUT HOLY MOUSE POOP, THE THING DRIVE MY NUTS, when you have three kids in a parking lot and you just want to get them in the car and go! I do have hope that the pins will release easer in time and usage...hopefully!

Its sturdy enough, the design is about as well as could be. The only issues I have is that it is a little loose sometimes and you have to readjust it, and there is no anti-slip on the bottom, but that can be fixed with a self-stick grip, like you put on the bottom of a shoe. I use a padded seat cover between it and the car to protect my leather seats. My daughter really likes not having her feet dangle any more, and it keeps her feet from bracing off the back of the front seat. Its also easier for her to get in and out of her seat and out the door of a higher vehicle.

Great concept! But does not touch the floor of my Tahoe which makes it very wobbly. I’m going to see if my husband can put a thin board under it to stabilize it. Install is easier then a car seat.

We previously took a 3 hour road trip and my son complained about pain in his legs. So when we decided to take a 20 hour cross country road trip, we got this for him and he had no complaints. Recommend!

We bought these for our grandkids ages 4&6 and my six year old is autistic and he’s always complaining about leg pain so this is one of the reasons I purchased these … best decision we made. We went on a long trip aceros a couple of states and he didn’t complain he was actually saying his legs felt rested and enjoyed the trip. The hook is a little hard to fit in or remove but it’s so worth the time and sweat. Easy and adjustable when getting my boys in and out of the car and instructions are so easy. Wish I would’ve known about this product for my own children. Love love it!
