Red shiny oxygen-free copper never changed color after 5 years when exposed to air. Second time buying this brand for home theater speakers, works great! Cost more than other brands.

> 3 dayI used this on my front and center speakers with excellent results. I terminated them with Sewell deadbolt banana plugs and it was a perfect fit. Even at 10 gauge the cable remains very flexible and the sound quality is noticeably improved over my previous 14 gauge speaker wire. This stuff has 462 strands of ultra fine wire per conductor and since music travels on the surface of wire (especially high frequencies) the clarity and detail is very good. Sounds like all the electrons are traveling free of any resistance :-)

Greater than one weekWow, using this 10 gauge wire sure made a difference on my speaker system. I was using a 16 gauge wire before because my speakers werent too far apart so I thought Id be safe with it. Some how I was not satisfied with the sound so I decided to get these wires. I dont know if its this wire or just that a bigger gauge wire will do but this wire played some sounds that I did not notice before with my smaller gauge wire. Since the installation of these new wires, Ive gone back through all my old musics and am loving it. Great buy! I would suggest to anyone wiring their entertainment system to use at least 12 gauge wiring. 10 gauge is even better from what Ive experienced :).

A lot of the speaker wire listings are way to over priced just for being geared towards car audio. And I’ve also seen a few things I think KnuKonceptz can price better, but there’s no doubt this is great quality speaker cable and well priced item KnuKonceptz carry. The speaker wire has a good quality feel to it, and is very flexible. Works great for running 2000 watt rms subwoofers. I used this wire inside my subwoofer box to connect to subwoofer, and also ran this wire to the amp.
Plain and Simple Specifications
- Wire type - CCA or OFC
These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
- American Wire Gauge
Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier"s life.
True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products
- Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
- To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
- Speaker Wire is often written as 10-2 or 10/2. This means 10 gauge x 2 conductor, both positive and negative signal are carried within one cable and are each 10 gauge.
- Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
- The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). Most speaker wire ranges from 10 to 16 gauge. 18 to 22 gauge is often much too thin for most Home Theater applications.
- Based on AWG, the true gauge of this cable is 10 Gauge
Oxygen Free Copper - The standard in audio
- Quality cables use quality materials. Oxygen Free Copper is copper of at least 4n purity. That means the conductor must be at least 99.99% copper.
- Copper speaker wire provides lower resistance than similar sized CCA cable. This means improved frequency response.
