Greater than one weekHeres the deal, I have these lights that I brought last year for my pagan winter solstice display from the Homeless Despot. They arent the greatest lights, but they are LED and they can switch from warm white to multi-color. Anyhoo, one 12 foot section was out, I stood on a ladder and checked every bulb in that sector...no dice . Oh, Mylanta! Went ahead and looked on the Homeless Despot website, and they were out of said lights. Fack! Got on my phone, opened up the A-Zon app, and blammy! Found this puppy. Worked like a charm. Cost less than a new string of lights. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayIt does exactly what its supposed to. At the end of the season I had 3 strings of lights that only had half of the bulbs working. I was ready to label the strings and try to hide the dead spots next year. It took a little while to get the hang of it, but by the last strand it only took 15 minutes to find and fix the problem. I actually had 2 bad bulbs on that strand. I cant imagine how long it would have taken without this. Now all of my lights are ready to go for next year. The clamp tester and bulb tester both work great. I didnt get a chance to try the fuse tester and the bulb remover was not the right size for my external light string.

> 3 dayUse the “cloth pins” to narrow down to the bad bulb, and there it is. Takes a little time and patience, but works very well.

> 3 dayI used this to find bad LED bulbs in net lighting where I had replacement bulbs. It took a little experimenting to figure out how to use it with net lights but it was the same basic idea of a single string light. Once I learned how to follow the wiring, it worked quite well. I had 3 sets of lights to fix. One was fixed within 15 minutes with one dead bulb. The second took a half hour with 2 dead bulbs in the same 50 light section - made it a little trickier. The third set seemed unrepairable with this tool and I gave up. For simple string led lighting (as compared to net lighting), this tool would be very easy to use.

> 3 daywow this thing is awesome and so is the company. i bought a string of 200 led christmas tree lights 3 years ago - they cost about $25 at the time. they worked great for 2 seasons then this being the third i plugged it in and about 30 bulbs in the middle of the string were dead. i did a google search on how to repair LED x-mas lights and found this - watched the video on how to use it on the manufacturers site and then ordered from amazon. followed the instructions (the video is great), found the bad bulb, used one of the pods (my mine does not have removable bulbs) fixed the string in about 20 minutes. i also ordered extra pods and i am glad i did because i now i can fix this same string in the future. might get a few more years out of this one string of cheap chinese LED lights - and think about how many strings of LED lights you could go through in a lifetime if you didnt have this tool to keep them working. the company is saving thouands if not millions of strings of lights from ending up in our landfills. pretty impressive. one last thing - i was slightly confused at first when i opened it and started the video - i called the 800 number at 6pm on a weeknight (December 8th) and a super friendly man answered fast like he was just sitting in his livingroom taking calls - he clued me in quick and i went back to the video and successfully fixed my lights. buy it. a tool every home should have if youre using LED christmas lights.

> 3 dayI did NOT want to spend money on this thing. But after several hours of googling and youtubing trying figure out how to diagnose and fix my half lit led christmas tree decor I came to the conclusion as every one of the articles and videos I watched...do it. The instructions werent great but I watched a video on how to use it before it arrived so I was ready to go. In less than 10 minutes I found three bad bulbs and had them replaced and had a fully functional light tree again. My only complaint is I didnt do it sooner. I shudder thinking about how many strings of led lights Ive tossed thinking they were unrepairable.

> 3 dayI was very frustrated using this tool with my LED lights. First of all, my string from Menards had not one, but three wires connecting each bulb and I had to test all three each time, so that was time-consuming. After narrowing it. down to one bad bulb, I tried swapping that out with a good one from the end of the light string. Well that didn’t work- turns out you need to have working bulbs in ALL the sockets in order for your string to work. I think the written instructions could have used more illustrations as they were hard to follow, but watching the YouTube video helped. Also, I don’t think the black pods would work with three-sting lights like mine because I couldn’t tell which wire was live. If you’re a handyman or good with electric repairs, this is your tool, but the layperson could use a little more guidance.
