My 6 and 7 year old love Legos, and as much as I would love to see them build sets and keep them intact :), they much prefer to scramble all of their pieces and free build over and over. This set is perfect for that, and perfect as a starter set or to add on to existing Legos. You really can’t go wrong with this. It will get creativity flowing for all ages. The sorting box is cool too, but at the end of the day, our Legos all end up mixed together in a big container.

This is an amazing set with some fantastic pieces! The variety is wonderful and allows for the builder to be very creative and imaginative! I love that there are little instruction books included! You can build 30+ little creatures and the storage dividers in the box make it easy to find the colors or pieces you need! This is by far one of the nicest sets of Legos Ive every gotten! I would absolutely recommend this for a kid of any age!! Adults too!

This is a BIG box. Lightweight but takes up a LOT of room. I like that you can reuse the box to store your pieces but trust me it will not last long for that purpose when you have kids. As already stated in other reviews you can go to their website and find infinite templates to use with this set. I like that. If you have kids that like variety this provides it. As with all LEGOs these are well made and built to last. Very happy with this.

LEGOs Classic Builder set comes in a large box that is fairly sturdy. The box is meant to serve as storage and has dividers. The box should hold up well if its treated with care, but youll probably want to get proper plastic storage if your kids are not that gentle. Included with the set are a wide array of pieces in different colors, sizes, uses. It is a great first set, or a set for someone who wants to build a bit more freestyle than LEGOs more purposefully designed sets. The bricks are well made and high quality. There are multiple books included to build a wide variety of items that range widely in size and complexity. Ive enjoyed building some of the items with my 5-year-old. All in all... a great LEGO set.

This is a really nice starter set or addition to expand your Legos. It has multiple colors and all of the standard blocks you would need. This is great for those who just want to build random things rather than getting a kit that is specific. It does have several instructions for things to build inside as well though, so it is perfect for those who want the best of both worlds.

As I write this, LEGO 11020 Build Together set is the second largest in the Classic theme, just behind 11022 Space Mission. But this set comes with larger pieces – including 5 16x16 – plates and is geared towards general building. The box must also be factored into the price given that can be reused as a piece organizer with 3 build trays. Very useful! The box measures approximately 23 inches wide, 13 inches deep and 4 inches high. When put together, there are 6 equal sized troughs to hold sorted pieces. The three included trays fit on top of the dividers and can be used to hold build in progress, the big plates and manuals. This is the most functional LEGO box that I have ever encountered. Speaking of the instructions, there are four books that each cover three sets of numbered bags. That does help focus building to a few colors at a time with small representative builds. From there one can then free build with all the colors colors. Included are also two double-sided challenge cards to test one’s building skills. The 1601 pieces in this set span a nice gamut of LEGO pieces, with 496 different piece types and 41 different colors, to be precise. I think I got that right. LEGO has, of course, way more than 496 piece types and 41 colors actively in production but IMO this set contains a good cross section and is an excellent introduction to the LEGO world. I am a bit disappointed with the lack of dark tan and dark brown pieces and the low number of pieces in tan, reddish brown and others in the same color family. But there’s only so much that LEGO can put into one general set. Overall this is set is a winner as are many of the sets in the Classic theme. Let the creativity flow!

Its a BIIIIGGG set of Legos. This is the perfect set to let your imagination run rampant and wild as you literally build whatever you want to build with ALL the pieces. The set does come with instructions for building maybe 50 animals and such but I think its meant more as a inspiration than anything. It comes in quite a big box and I would recommend being gentle with the box, at least while opening it, as the box does double as an organizer and a great way to stow all the loose pieces. This is probably one of the most cleverly designed Lego boxes Ive seen and I appreciate their innovation. This is honestly one of the best and fun Lego sets for anyone looking to build using their imaginations. The price is high but I highly recommend!
