This build was a little bit too complex for my 5-year-old, so I followed the instructions and did the build on this one. This playset has nearly 1,000 pieces, so its a little bit complex. But the illustrated instructions, as usual for LEGO, are truly superb. Also the it comes with 5 separate bags so the construction proceeds in steps. Another stand out feature for this playset is that there are three different build you can pursue in the instructions, so its really like 3 playsets in one. I will mention that I did encounter several missing pieces, but one wasnt structural and the other I was able to replace from our LEGO bin in the kids room. Also good to note here that the LEGO website makes it very easy to request any missing parts. Overall, a great set here. My daughter likes it a lot.

My favorite set. This is not a starter set, it has great instructions and many pieces but is not a proper set for a beginner. I purchased this set for an intermediate builder and it went together perfectly. The value for money is high as far as Lego goes when using the 10 cents per block average, it came to less than 8 cents per piece at Christmas time during a sale. Would gladly purchase again, I usually buy from Lego store but it was sold out there and was a slightly lower price due to Black Friday.

I have been building the larger (2,500+ piece) Creator series sets; they are fun, incredibly detailed, take several nights, and can get a little tedious to build - just a little, though. So I thought this Creator lite set would be fun for an adult Lego fan. I was right. At just under 1,000 pieces, this is big enough to be a challenge for a child (9+ according to the package; I would agree), but small enough to be fun and a good 1-day project. I liked that there are three configurations included in the package. Its not really a townhouse, Pet Ship, & Cafe, its also a bank, town, and toy tram as well. Just not all at once. These are designed more as play sets rather than collectors sets, and it would be a shame to build it and sit it on a shelf. The buildings have open backs, for play, and the three configurations will open up imaginations to a fourth, fifth, and sixth configuration, and so on. In other words, exactly what you look for in a Lego set. PIeces are colorful, the set is easy to build, and the customization encouragement is the icing on the cake. Highly recommended.

Flashy electronics may come and go but the brilliance of Legos and the joy of creating with them will shine forever! It was already cool enough, just having all of these blocks that you could build anything you could think of with. The ultimate chance to use your hands, brain, and imagination. Now Legos have come up with these kits, these incredible kits that give you a purpose right out the gate! Not just that, you can still build so many other things! Legos are the best and my niece and nephews and I are going to have a blast putting this together and then taking it apart and building something else again and again. Legos really are a gift that keeps on giving and this set has so much to give.
