76129 Hydro-Man Attack is one of three new sets released based on the upcoming Spider-Man: Far from Home film. It contains 471 pieces, 4 minifigures, and costs $39.99 USD. Each of the minifigures is unique and new for this wave of Spider-Man sets. Surprisingly, Peter Parker comes in a regular outfit (with jacket/hoodie printing) and not in his full-on signature Spider-Man suit, which is a more-than-welcome inclusion to me, since the last regular Peter Parker minifigure appeared in a set from 2004. There is some printing of his suit under the jacket, and he comes with a winter hat piece in red printed with Spider-Man eyes, representing his mask; its really cool. Nine different unique webbing pieces are included for him to use. MJ comes in this set too, matching her appearance in the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Her face printing is excellent and the printing on her torso is brand-new, printed with a shirt and jacket/hoodie combo. Hydro-Man is one of the new villains in the movie, and being a water entity hes made up entirely of blue pieces. I love how the printed details on his head and torso look very liquid-like and bubbly. Well have to see how accurate this guy is to the movie once the film comes out. Mysterio is the other villain in this set; he also appears in the two other most recent Spider-Man sets. The torso and leg printing matches what weve seen of him in trailers for the film, and he has a new globe-like helmet piece that works perfectly for him. He also sports a Violet-colored fabric cape. I feel like maybe the torso would have worked better in Gold rather than Dark Green, but thats a minor nitpick. Great minifig. He comes with two Transparent Light Blue power blasts. The actual set itself took about 45 minutes to build. The main build consists of a small dock and bridge on one side, with a small cafe (complete with table and chairs) and pier build on the other side. There are two smaller builds, a gondola boat, and a brick-built water stand for Hydro-Man. Pretty much everything here is packed with details, from the brick pieces on the bridge to the foliage elements on top of the cafe - Theres just so much going on here, and it looks amazing. This set would make a wonderful display piece just for the builds alone, and the minifigures are the icing on the cake. Overal, would I recommend this set? Yes, definitely! You get an exceptional value for the price, and theres a LOT of stuff included. Love it. Go check this one out, you wont regret it.

This set is very well designed. Its sturdy, easy to build, and has interesting moving parts. The overall design of the set is odd though. It features Peter Parker half-dressed as Spiderman, and Hydromans water pillar seems like an unnecessary addition. The set itself is very cool, including various locations that webs can easily be attached to. Its an adequate set, but nothing too unique, especially if you are interested in collecting the main characters.

Lego nerd and college student here. I didn’t get paid to write a review. This set is an absolute steal, especially on sale right now. It is packed with some amazing details and I find both the gondola and the little coffee machine hidden in the building on the side to be really cute. The bridge is very sturdy and the explosion feature works well. The figures are also awesome. Mysterio in particular has a very cool new head piece and squishy cape. He is the only figure that is not exclusive to this set (the other three are). The weapons and webs for Spiderman seem to be new and are fun to play with. I have included a picture of the secret compartment with the rat and pizza that many other reviewers have brought up. This detail is also nice. My only two gripes with this set are that MJ’s hair often pops off of her head, and that I feel that Mysterio’s energy blasts put a lot of stress on the figures hands which could cause them to break at some point if fired too much. But these are minor and on the whole, I definitely recommend this set for any Lego lover.

We have a crazy Marvel/Lego fan in the house. It pains me to say this, but this set did not impress. Of the Marvel sets that are out right now (mid-2019), my kids regard this as one of the least interesting (though better than the junior sets). The set draws from Spiderman, Far From Home, and attempts to make use of one of the movies more spectacular locations, Venice. This doesnt work very well on two counts. First, its not a great set-piece for play. Theres a bridge. Theres a cafe. Lego has thrown in two action levers that pop the seats in the cafe as well as the mid section of the bridge, but it is still fairly static. My kids give the set 2 stars for playability. Second, in terms of creative building, these are bland representations of Venice. Take a look at what the Lego designers are doing with the Ninjago sets and you can see a quantum jump in architectural detail. The LEGO Hydro-Man Attack includes four minifigures, Peter Parker, MJ, Mysterio, and Hydro-Man. The mini-figures have some draw, three of them being exclusive at the time this set came out. The Peter Parker figure is cool because his mask is pulled halfway up. MJ does not look much like Zendayas version. Hydro-Man is constructed from a large number of small trans-blue pieces. The structure really needed to be more detailed and the cafe needed to be larger. The set has the feeling of being reduced down to just the essential elements so much so that it has no useful scale or character. The gondola, for example, feels like a clunky, chunky representation that used the least number of bricks possible. Parts-wise, the set has a decent number of arches, slopes, and small plates. You could easily convert this into something more interesting, especially if youre main reason for buying the set is to acquire the mini-figures.
