19-11-2024Others had reported a cheap and weak stand. LG must have listened to the reviews because mine came with a metal stand. I was a tad disappointed in the resolution, not because it is bad, but because of the resolution of my old monitor, a dell ultrasharp u3011. (The Dell also costs like 5x as much.) I was also disappointed that there were no USB or DisplayPort connections, but again, Im comparing it to a much more expensive monitor. (And I could have learned this from the specs, but I assumed these were standard on all new monitors.) On the good side, it uses only a fraction of the power of my old monitor, and so doesnt get hot like the DELL. Note: My computer does not have HDMI, and the monitor only has HDMI (and VGA). The instructions that came with the monitor recommended against a DisplayPort => HDMI cable as it might cause compatibility problems. I went with the cable anyway and found it works fine for video, but I was not getting any sound. Apparently, after installing this monitor, my system switched the default sound device to the LG monitor (so obviously no sound.) This was quickly remedied by manually switching my audio device back to my speakers. PROS: 1. the price was great 2. easy to setup 3. picture quality is good (not what Im used to, but good for what it is.) 4. relatively light 5. low power consumption, runs cool-warm CONS: Not enough features (covered above) Long story short, I like the monitor for the price/size:

Greater than one weekI have two 27 Samsung 1920x1080 monitors and this blows them out of the water. I even have a 32 Acer 2560 x1440 QHD monitor and even though this is only 1920x1080 this monitor blows this out of the water as well! I feel like this has just made the world of difference when I am gaming. Even though it is a lower resolution than the Acer(which is what I was gaming on) this monitor looks more vibrant and crisper. I dont even want to get into a features comparison. This LG monitor is just leaps and bounds better. I should have bought two at the price that it was at, hell I may buy another one anyway. That way my work setup has two great monitors not just one great and one good.

Greater than one weekAfter placing the monitor on its stand, the bottom of the monitor was sloped away from me and the top was sloped toward me, unfortunately, I hate this viewing angle!!! The fix was two 3/4 wooden pieces under the outside edges of the stand. Now the angle is much better. Too bad that the stand is NOT adjustable by the user for a more comfortable angle if view. Other than this small problem the monitor is fine. A good picture from my Kingdel mini computer.

> 3 dayPurchased on June 12, 2019, exactly 3 months and 10 days later, September 22, 2019, the plastic stand that was held together by a few screws failed ( not the screws, but the plastic failed breaking into two pieces) and caused the monitor to come crashing down on my desk as I was sitting there. This particular model was made in China and obviously it was not engineered correctly or the manufacturing of the plastic stand parts were not up to standard. For a flat screen, this monitor is heavier than most - but its to anyone case why the stand failed. Everything else was great, but if it happened tome, it can happened to you. Im submitting a warranty repair, but the hope is, when you buy something new, is that you never have to submit a warranty repair. I had purchased two of these monitors, so now im worried about the second one. Monitor stands should be metal - end of story. Update : Even though the LG provided stand failed, LG would not honor the warranty under the heading : Physical Damage even though if was their stand caused the physical damage by failing. This will be my last LG purchase ever. Update: I received a check from LG on March 13, 2020 for $201.39. Reimbursing me in full for the purchase. That was impressive, although it did take quite a while. Ok to buy from LG , just don’t buy this monitor if you plan to use the stands that come with it . Also the second monitor failed too. That one , I never bother submitting a claim for. Monitor is probably ok for VESA mounting. Upgrade the rating for the 100% full reimbursement.

> 3 dayIt’s really good quality for the money. I wish it had D connection. Not sure what it’s called. Power cord has a brick which kinda annoying.

> 3 dayOut of the box the refresh rate was set to only 25ghz. Jumping to 75 on the settings improved it significantly. Its a great barebones monitor for a good price. No bells and whistles. The provided arm stand is weak, flimsy, and cannot adjust in anyway so an arm or stand is recommended. The backports only support video and audio. Mostly used for Internet browsing, video watching and working.
