> 3 dayAfter using computer projectors for years, the LG CINEBEAM DLP Projector Model PF50KA is a great choice for either home / portable theater scenarios or for computer projection. It’s lightweight, portable, AND can run on the built-in battery for up to three hours. I can see a potential for temporary outdoor movie screenings in the summer, for office projection, and even home theater with a crisp white, flat screen. Note that I tested this in a semi-dark room on an empty bedroom wall. I don’t have a theater set up (yet). However, my main use for this device is as a portable computer projector to replace my old, broken Dell projector. The Good: - Easy to set up and use right out of the box - MANY input options—Ethernet, USB and USB-C, 2 HDMI inputs, and even an antenna input - Crisp, clear picture. My powerpoint presentation was crisp, and my Satellite TV picture was clean with no jitter or lag. - Good picture even in a light room The somewhat mediocre - There was a wizard to utilze the ‘magic’ remote that came with the box to control my DirecTV set-top box. The set-up options were less than stellar. It didn’t work. - Moving from input to input is cumbersome. It would be nice to be able to easily change inputs. - For an LED projector, this got HOT. I didn’t expect that. - The fan is at the top of the box, and the plastic isn’t rigid. Be careful when you pick it up—don’t do so with one hand or you may press on the fan. - Adjusting the screen size—there is NO way to adjust the screen projection size EXCEPT by placing the box closer/farther away from the screen. - Keystone adjustment is awkward. In general, I think this is a pretty sold choice for a projection device. I like the crisp, clear projection of my computer screen (my primary use case) and will also enjoy the TV/video options here.

Greater than one weekDecent projector. Bright enough in low light and perfect for outdoor use. If using inside as primary viewing device you might want to consider a higher end projector if wanting a big screen level of clarity and brightness. Also will need a quality sound bar to pair with it for sound.

Greater than one weekGood small size, decent battery life, picture quality is excellent, lumens isnt too bad in a semi dark room and is more than adequate in a dark room (if you have dark walls and ceiling too then the contrast level would be outstanding). On medium/maximum energy saving mode the projector is super quiet. The connectivity is great, Bluetooth, WiFi direct/miracst etc, all seem to work quite well. Things I didnt like: Lack of any kind of optical zoom though I did know this before buying it so havent marked it down for that in my rating, Menu wont let you change region from US, and there seems to be no good reason for this, which means you cant set the time zone properly for it (which is a sillyoversight for what is ostensibly a travel projector), this may not be true of non-US bought ones, I dont know for sure, given that the option is there in the menu but just greyed out so you cant change it I would guess that other countries or an international model might allow you to change that country setting, Bluetooth audio does sometimes lag ever so slightly / goes out of sync, particularly when watching streaming videos, not as much when watching regular content, but to be honest I find this seems to happen with basically all Bluetooth speakers when watching streaming videos so to some degrees it may just be a limitation of the technology, also some people may not notice this as much anyway just I find Im quite sensitive to it and it bothers me so I just plug in speakers with headphone jack because it does have a line out option through that same headphone port which is good at least, (it also has an audio resync option in the menu but its a rather unwieldy automated affair that doesnt seem to work all that well, particularly when it comes to Bluetooth audio sync issues because the syncing issue usually isnt a steady difference, Minimum energy saving mode provides brightest picture quality but is also accompanied with louder fan noise. Its not an intolerable level of noise, but its definitely noticeable and so usually I use the medium setting or if my room is completely dark with dark non reflective walls then maximum is fine too. Even on minimum I would say it still is quieter than most other projectors I have heard though, The remote has waaaaay to many buttons that you dont need since everything can be adjusted by the software menu, yet weirdly is missing buttons that would be quite useful to have quick to hand (like changing the energy saving level with a click rather than having to go through the menu). Remote should be back lit but isnt :-S Sidenotes: I dont know what other people here have been complaining about with their issue of the unit going straight to TV when they turn it on instead of to the last used input, when I turn mine on it just goes to whatever I was last viewing, it could possibly be that theyre fully switching off the unit by pressing the button on the top maybe? I dont know, but basically if you use the remote to power up and down then you wont have this issue. Final thoughts: Theres room for improvement with this projector, its far from perfect... But if you want 1080p quality, with acceptable brightness and contrast when used in a dark space, good connectivity, and you want all that to be portable... Well then I dont think there are any better options than this out there at the moment.

> 3 dayI just received the unit today so these are my first impressions. Most projectors around 3000 lumens are 300 Watts or more, and I do not want to burn $40 a month just for electricity on my projector. So I wanted a 1080p projector good enough for a semi-lit room, semi-portable, not more than 1000 lumens or 100 watts. This is possibly the only projector on the market that fits the bill. Pros -Great 1080p resolution on a portable projector -Decent software, can watch Hulu, Netlfix, Youtube etc without needing to connect it to a PC. 600 lumens is good enough for a semi-lit room, and only consumes 65 Watts max, unlike other bright projectors that need 300-400 Watts. -I did not have the problem or forgetting the wifi password that others mentioned. -I did not have any difficulty with the remote or the menus. They are not the best, but they are quite useable. -Autokeystone works when the projector is pointing up. Cons -The major issue is with zoom. If you zoom to have clear picture in the center, it will be blurry near the edges. And vice-versa. What is the point of 1080p if poor zooming is going to ruin it? Unacceptable for a $650 projector. Sony projectors do not have that issue. Even a cheap Vankyo V600 projector does not have that issue. -Also, you cannot adjust the throw, you have to move the projector closer or farther from the screen to change the screen size. At this price point this is forgiveable, you usually have to pay more for adjustable throw. -There is a HORRIBLE bug, which makes keystone work incorrectly when projecting to wall at a level lower than the projector. (Or when projecting forward to the ceiling). Then, keystone distorts the image in the wrong direction, making it even more distorted (i.e. a parallelpiped, instead of an orthogon). LG, if you are listening, you HAVE TO FIX THIS BUG, it is totally unacceptable. Conclusion: If you want to show a powerpoint presentation, text may be blurry in the middle or edges of the screen. In movies, it is not as noticeable. If you want to lie in bed and project to the ceiling, a bit forward from the bed, auto-keystone will distort your image in the wrong direction, making the projector unusable.

> 3 dayI was looking for a high end portable projector and this met all the expectations I had except one. The 1 star detraction is due to only minimal battery life, although that also kept the weight down.

> 3 dayFirst impression: It’s compact, built well, and excellent packing I already have a projector, the JMGO N7, what is not perfect, but have good picture quality and brightness, but it’s not portable I was looking for something that have decent Brightness and full HD. I have got the AAXA P7, what actually a really well built and Small projector with excellent quality image The only think I had a problem with is the Contrast, and color accuracy, so I send it back. I decided to get the LG PF50KA. The contrast Is just WOW. 100000:1 . In my opinion contrast just as important as high brightness The colors are nice, The image sharp and the brightness is more than enough in a dark room. I did try with daylight, and the image is enjoyable. 600 lumIs perfect with the high contrast. I don’t know How long the battery will last, I be back in a few days..... the operating system is LG’s own system, If you like Amazon, unfortunately you will need a Fire Tv stick or any plugin to HDMI That support Amazon streaming, because LG don’t. Everything else is there like YouTube, or Netflix. Second day : The image Controll is awesome. Individual brightness, contrast, color, gamma Give incredible control over the image. I was able to match the color really close Between my laptop and the projector. The battery is about 1 hour and 20 min in High, 2 hour in mid and 2 hours and 30 min In low settings. The resolution is full HD Not interpolation. Meaning: the DLP is True 1920 x 1080. I’m really happy with This projector. Thank you for reading.... Back after two years, (March 2021) the projector is still the same and still goin. I’m using it 5-6 hours per day 7 says per week. LOVE IT EVERY DAY.!!!

> 3 dayProjectors have come a long way since the old days with hot, slow (expensive!) light bulbs. The LED projector era has come about slowly, with a lot of weak, small and power0hungry devices in the last half-decade or so, but this device signals (for me at least) that the technology is maturing into something useful and convenient, and the price is finally coming down a little. The built-in LG smart TV functionality is very useful, and easy on the eyes. Im a big fan of smart TV tech being built into devices like this, as it eliminates a lot of the need for connecting devices and navigating around webpages and third-party apps. While I used to use my Xbox One as my main media portal, I found the Roku functionality built into my TCL TV to be even easier, and LGs functionality looks pretty similar. Especially since this projector has wifi and a battery, having that convenience makes it truly mobile. The hardware feels pretty nice, and the picture is very clear and crisp, which indicates a good lens. There is a physical lever for focusing the picture on top of the device. Others have noted that it is a little laggy, but this isnt due to any issues with the physical lever, its because the lens is what is called focus-by-wire, which means that it is controlled electronically, not by any physical connection from lever to lens. The lever is nothing more than a button and input from the user takes the device a little time to digest and move the lens. I recommend just taking it slow, as the lens will definitely respond to any input from the user, but it is not 1 to 1. So far I have only been able to focus on small wall spaces, so I havent displayed at over about 32 approximate. At this level the picture is quite bright, easy to see during daylight (without direct sunlight of course). Given my small wall space, I will need to add a projector screen to be able to take full advantage of potential display size. Im a little doubtful about a 100 size, given that I havent seen anything that large out of an LED projector, but I will update when I am able to test the device under a greater range of sizes. All in all, Im quite pleased with the hardware quality, the ease of use with the smart TV functionality, and the picture. Its a great option if a projector is the direction you want to go.

> 3 dayI really like this projector but out of nowhere it started getting lines on the image. Still probably will look into getting it fixed but it’s still a good projector.
