> 3 dayI am so happy to have good internet in my home office now. My computer was gettinging terrible wifi signal from our router at the far end of the house. I tried a power line but it only had 1 Ethernet connection. This switch has everything I needed.

04-06-2025I already owned an SE3016 (the 16-port version of this switch) for my primary network, so when I had a backup internet connection set up I figured that the 8-port version would be my best bet. And I was right! This is a very good switch. Its plug-and-play, no setup required, and its performance is excellent. One thing I especially like about it is that you have a visual indicator of whats going on with the link, most notably that its green for gigabit and amber for 10/100.

> 3 dayBought from Amazon. Hooked up the unit, connected a cable to each ports, all the ports, except port 2 did not light up. Called Linkys @ 1-877-855-6899, option Small/Medium Business Department. After getting preliminary information on the switch, we walked through and tested the unit over the phone. Linksys determined a replacement unit will be sent. All was handled in that one phone call. Representatives I spoke with were courteous, genuinely understood my needs and strived to resolve. Hope you will not have any issues with your unit; however, if you do, outlined above was my experience.

Greater than one weekI used to use my old routers as switches thinking it was the same as using an unmanaged switch...oh I was wrong. I am using my 2 switches with my two towers

> 3 dayI was searching for a router that was wired only. When I found this one I was pleasantly surprise. Because it was a gigabyte router at its listed price. Once I got passed the fact that you must sacrifice your 1st or 5th internet port as your coming in network signal. The setup was easy; zero complications. So far I have only two devices connected via ethernet cable. And I havent had much of a drops in my gigabyte speed. Considering the cable modem is actually 36 ft away. Its why Im using a 50 ft Cat6 ethernet cable to trail it through walls and corners. So due to the long cable used to connect to the living room modem. The speed lost is expected since theres arent any cable lines in any of the bedrooms. Im content with the data speed Im currently getting. For now at least, until I figure another method to move the cable modem.

> 3 dayThe switch works great. I get my full internet speed without any issues. (This is with multiple devices connected to the switch.) I am able to do file transfers from my workstation to my Ubuntu server running a samba share at full gigabit speed with no issues. I bought this as an extension to my network since my 10 gigabit switch had all its ports filled and connected this to devices that dont need anywhere near a 10 gig link to my servers. Up time is great I havent had to reboot it since it was installed 4 months ago. While I wish it had a management console like my Cisco gear this is a home grade switch and at this price point It makes sense that its plug and play and thats it. (This means vlans and other switching features on the switch are out of the question.) Its also metal and feels pretty well built.

> 3 dayHad my house wired for Cat6 Gig-E and threw this in the entertainment center to provide hard-wired connections for the 4k TV and a few game consoles/devices -- it works perfectly. Ive had another one of these in my office for 2 years and it has worked without reboot or issue the entire time. Ive been through enough Netgears in my life to know that equipment is not for me. Also had crap luck with Amped Wireless over a long period of time (1+ year plus) -- the Linksys and Asus equipment has lasted for me so far and this piece of hardware is no different. The ONLY thing I wish this had/did was different color LEDs when there was a 1Gbit connection vs 100mbps or lower. Some other switches do this and I like it, but as long as this works smoothly and gives me great speed, I can live without the color change. Its just a nerdy sense of satisfaction item for me.
