Its great, everything I expected. Its literally the same size as my suitcase, but without the wheels, and the benefit of making it slimmer. The notebook storage is great and really well padded. Everything I hoped for!

This backpack is a marvel. It’s not even a backpack, really: it’s a suitcase-messenger bag-valise that you also can hoist onto your back. At its heart, literally, is a large, zipper-expandable compartment with the same elastic clothes-holding cross-piece you find in suitcases. Plus there are three extra zippered bags within that compartment, two of them mesh-front fabric, the third clear vinyl, perfect for collecting the smaller items you need when traveling. In general, there are so many compartments, large and small, that I continued to find them even after photographing this bag. I bought a packet of 20 zipper pulls, which I recommend adding to this (and any) bag with zippers – I used all 20. Your laptop computer has a storage sleeve at the back of the bag, its cushioning reinforced by an egg-crate-style insert (see photo). And there’s room for your power supply and other incidentals. At the front of the bag, another zippered compartment has mesh-fronted compartments within along with segments marked off by wide elastic, where you can hold small bottles, writing implements, and the like – and if you keep a music player in there, there’s a grommetted pass-through hole for wired headphones. You won’t have this on your shoulders all the time, so there’s a very handy zippered pocket into which you can tuck the shoulder straps. And the bag has strong carry handles on the top and side. This versatile backpack now contains what I carry in order to work on the road, but it’s also going to be my primary piece of luggage for next long-term trip.

Without doing much research on the bag… I ordered it. My plan was for it to be something I could use as a weekender bag but also as a regular backpack for work. am a consultant that for travels for work, which is why I was hoping for the versatility, but I wasn’t expecting this back to be as large as it is. This bag is incredible and really seems to have all the bells and whistles but it’s still a little too large to be a backpack that I would bring to a client site. I have no regrets about ordering though as the quality is fantastic and now I have a backpack that can easily fit 4 days worth of clothes plus other items I’m it. If you need a good quality bag that can pack a ton of stuff - order this!

I LOVE this perfect traveler backpack! It has so many convenient packets and organizers that make it the perfect way to pack compactly for those short getaways. It even has a shoe (or dirty laundry) compartment. As a bonus, there are travel organizers included with the purchase - as well as one that is see through for quick security clearance. The perfect bag for your next getaway OR for your friends who have a passion for wanderlust. Appreciate the expanding property of the main compartment as well. This is an exceptional value for the quality of the product.

I purchased this for a good weekend or overnight bag and it exceeded my expectations. Tons of storage and organization with dedicated compartments for laptop and electronics, clothes, and toiletries. With how much the bag expands it will be great for those times that you come home with more than you left with. I own several other Maelstrom products and they never disappoint.

Update: 1 month into cross-country trip (have not even gotten into asia), the shoe bag ripped. One hook off the top ripped off, and half of the bottom part of the bag is ripped. My shoes would fall right off. I did not keep their warranty information... unhappy, hence taking star off. The backpack is compartments GALORE!! So so many compartments for different uses, making it easy to stay organized during travel. You dont have to pull out everything just to get to an item you need. You can put smaller things in the smaller compartments and other stuff in other compartments. I cant express how much I love this backpack. We are going to go backpacking in Asia this summer, and I am so pumped to use this!! Theres a pocket for your portable charger, and you can run the cord out of the backpack to charge your phone or ipad. Theres a SHOE BAG to store another pair of shoes!!!! No need to stick your dirty shoes in a plastic bag next to all your clothes. You can hide the backpack straps to make checking it easier. So many good things to say. It is well worth the price. There are travel backpacks out there with only like 3 or 4 pockets that are $200-$300. Some are heavy-duty with thicker material which is not as suitable for overseas traveling (weight limit and all). This is really worth the price. I love it!!

Absolutely love this backpack. Great for traveling. Multiple accessory pockets, which makes it easy to find smaller items. Perfect carry-on size. Definitely recommend.

This bag is great. It is spacious and keeps you organized, but it also doesn’t have 6000 pockets and dividers. It has a nice big open cavity for all of your clothes and just enough pockets and organizational dividers to be useful. We bought one to try out and turns out it will now be my son’s school bag. We just purchased two more for our trip to Europe this summer.
