It almost fit everything that was in my checked in bag. Its very sturdy, love the different pockets that you can use to get organized better. You can expand it or make it smaller - when I first got the bag I didnt realize how big and bulky it was but its definitely a plus if youre traveling and need to fit in as much things as possible. I cant wait to use it when I go shopping in the trade show I go to <3

This backpack is a marvel. It’s not even a backpack, really: it’s a suitcase-messenger bag-valise that you also can hoist onto your back. At its heart, literally, is a large, zipper-expandable compartment with the same elastic clothes-holding cross-piece you find in suitcases. Plus there are three extra zippered bags within that compartment, two of them mesh-front fabric, the third clear vinyl, perfect for collecting the smaller items you need when traveling. In general, there are so many compartments, large and small, that I continued to find them even after photographing this bag. I bought a packet of 20 zipper pulls, which I recommend adding to this (and any) bag with zippers – I used all 20. Your laptop computer has a storage sleeve at the back of the bag, its cushioning reinforced by an egg-crate-style insert (see photo). And there’s room for your power supply and other incidentals. At the front of the bag, another zippered compartment has mesh-fronted compartments within along with segments marked off by wide elastic, where you can hold small bottles, writing implements, and the like – and if you keep a music player in there, there’s a grommetted pass-through hole for wired headphones. You won’t have this on your shoulders all the time, so there’s a very handy zippered pocket into which you can tuck the shoulder straps. And the bag has strong carry handles on the top and side. This versatile backpack now contains what I carry in order to work on the road, but it’s also going to be my primary piece of luggage for next long-term trip.

We used this as our glorified diaper bag for our 3 month old on our 12 day trip to Spain. We had plenty of room to hold the diapers, outfits, burp rags, wipes, and all things baby. It was nice having so many compartments. It was small enough to fit in the overhead bins on all the planes we took. We used the packing cubes provided to put his dirty clothes in. Overall we liked the product and will definitely be using again on trips in the future!

Bag is very spacious and expandable. Great fit for small trips. Additional pouches makes things more organized.

Absolutely love this backpack. Great for traveling. Multiple accessory pockets, which makes it easy to find smaller items. Perfect carry-on size. Definitely recommend.

This is a serious, serious, backpack and/or travel bag, designed to carry a lot. Fit & feel are very good and it is readily apparent that quite a bit of design work went into this. Construction appears heavy duty; adjusting clasps are everywhere, not an inch wasted. Points of expansion throughout. I particularly noted the cross-body strap & clasp designed to hold both shoulder straps together across ones chest - thats typically a feature in the high quality camping & mountaineering bags. Fabric is good, seams are good, great touches throughout for whatever use this gets put to: schoolbag, travel weekender, hiker, backpacking, camping, ... its a solid addition & worth the extra money. Maelstrom appears to be an up-and-coming company & they scored a hit with this one for our uses.

I really hoped this bag would meet my expectations. Honestly it’s got too many pockets. Watch out for SAND! They send me a USED BAG! There is sand in external shoe compartment! Plus one of the external bag clips is torn, someone tried to fix it with blue treads, it caught my attention right away. This is just unacceptable, if I wanted to buy a used bag I would buy a used bag. Also real color of the bag is way darker than advertised.

I got this for my son for when he visits his dad. He doesn’t like to check a bag so this fits all of his teenage clothes perfectly for quick trips to Chicago or a weekend sports tournament get away. It’s extremely durable as well.

Very disappointed that the packing cubes did not come with the item! Traveling in the next couple days, so I do not have time to return and receive a new one! Having this extra items with the backpack is the main reason I ordered it.
