I was truly impressed with this smart plug. All I had to do was just capture an image of the QR code with my iPhone and plug it into the outlet and then I planted a floor lamp into the plug. Within second the plug showed up on HomeKit and in no time My HomePod mini used Siri to turn the phone and off. The price is very competitive too! IK highly recommend it.

I love this smart plug, it was easy to set up and took my like 30 seconds to install in using the Apple HomeKit app.

Could not use/set up on 5 GHz wifi network. Very few plugs apparently can be used on 5 GHz networks (as of now, anyway)

Smart plug that at least is smart enough to place the QR code on the side do it could be scanned without removing it from the receptacle. Just works and simple to install with homekit

I have no problems so far. I have been using this for less than a week. The setup was very intuitive and easy.

One of the concerns with these low cost smart plugs is whether they can work with a mesh network. A number of people that comment on this topic in these types of threads dont fully understand the issue IMO. The issue is not whether the mesh network supports both 2.4G and 5G. They all do that. The issue is whether the app provided with the Smart Plug can configure the plug to work on your mesh network. The problem is that most mesh networks will broadcast a single SSID for both frequencies. Your phone will connect on 5G but the plug only connects on 2.4G. So when phone pass the config data to the plug there is a mismatch and the plug wont connect. You will see recommendations often to work around this issue like walk far enough away from your mesh network so that your phone connects via 2.4G and then configure. This will work but what a hassle. The other option is to setup a separate router (not mesh) with the same SSID and password on its 2.4G radio. Turn off your mesh network, configure the plug to work with the separate router. Turn off the separate router and then turn the mesh network back on. The plug will then connect to the mesh network. This also works but again what a hassle. The Meross plug successfully connected from my phone app to the mesh network without any special steps. The reason, I believe, is that Meross uses Apple Homekit to configure the device. Apples config process has worked out the issue with the 2.4G and 5G radio incompatibility. I have had been able to configure other HomeKit devices to my mesh network so I believe this is something Apple has solved. It was interesting that the Meross documentation has all kinds of caveats about potential problems with mesh networks but I was able to configure it without any problems. Hope this helps those of you considering whether you can make this work on a mesh network router. BTW, I have Googles mesh network router though I would expect it should work on others as well. Also once I got it configured it has worked flawlessly. 5 stars...

I purchased the dual version instead a couples days ago but I couldn’t connect to the router but I was able to turn for a refund and got this instead. I purchased my other two with a 2 pack last year. Flawless ! I’m not sure my new Meross has an older firmware but it says it’s update to date on the Meross app. I have over 30 devices connected to my router. The LED makes it useful to make it sures it’s connected to the router.

Setup was annoying. I could get it in HomeKit but the app is very finicky about adding the device in the app itself. I honestly wouldn’t care about getting it in the app except for that HomeKit keeps telling me it need an update that can only be performed by the app. Took awhile but finally got the firmware updated which stopped HomeKit from messaging me every few hours to tell me that it needed an update....oh wait. No it didn’t. It keeps messaging me even though no updates are available. I checked online and this is a widespread issue. I gave it a couple weeks and the problem isn’t going away. I just bought another outlet brand and this one is either going to someone I hate or in the trash.
