It comes with several different rakes, so you can choose which one you like. I used 1 bag and only a portion of the items. I will probably simplify more just because i dont want a cluttered zen garden.

> 3 dayThis is about the size of a regular sheet of copier paper. It came beautifully packaged in paper box and would be suitable for gifting. I love that it came with so many pieces to play with and a nice set of tools for sculpting the sand. I like the fine white sand, which is the basis of the garden. Even though I like having the variety of pieces, I personally think that less is more and because the board is small, it feel crowded to me, so I did not use all the pieces for my initial garden, I am opting to rotate them instead or switch out to suit my whim. I did however enjoy this so much that I am considering a bigger desk top garden just for fun. All in all a nice set of grown up toy and fun for creative, dreamy minds.

Ive ordered blue sand to start making ocean designs. The design guide is helpful creating multiple patterns on the sand. I will say I have learned a thing or two about the Japanese culture from it.
