Greater than one weekWhen I first attached to the top of the cage and it came on, my cockatoo wasnt sure about it. Within short time were differences in him and his behavior. He now loves it and will sit and preen under it.

> 3 dayBeing a bird owner for the past 13 years we have had other lights that were for reptiles and are more dangerous as they dont provide the right light spectrum for birds. I was thrilled to find this for a reasonable price. Our 8 year old Cockatiel is more alert and stays up longer after having this light now for the past week. Since it is LED light, it is less dangerous than other bulbs. I would recommend anyone who owns birds purchase this light.

Greater than one weekExactly as pictured... the protected cord is VERY well done and ensures safety for the bird. My African Grey seems to be getting better healthier and her feathers are filling in after just a few weeks of use.

> 3 dayFinally, a light fixture my parrot cant take the ballast out of and cant try to electrocute herself with by chewing on the cord. The design allowing for inside or outside the cage installation was very helpful. The fasteners were a little fiddly for one person to manage while also holding the light, but only slightly. The light is great for a 48 x 36 Dome Top; there are no shadowy corners.

> 3 dayI’ve been using for my parakeet cage since October. Since the top of the cage is flat, I simply laid the light fixture on top of the cage in the middle, only needed to attach the metal-protected cord to the side of the cage to prevent it from being scooted & frightening the birds by moving the light. Other reviews noted no heat was produced, however I keep my cage covered in winter (except in front) to prevent drafts, & I did notice some warmth from the light. To be safe, I found a tray that does not conduct heat that was nearly the same length as the light & laid it upside down over the fixture to keep any warmth away from the cloth cage cover, as well as direct warmth back into the cage. Problem solved. I love the amount of light throughout the cage, & the birds seemed more active & lively too. Now I’m noticing that one of the birds who’d had pale, sparse feathers has returned to his former vibrant colors, & new feathers are growing in! Definitely worth the investment, even though I needn’t have bought the type for birds that chew since the fixture is installed on the outside of the cage. Still worth the money to see them enjoying renewed health and an active life even when the house is chilly in the winter. Would buy again!

> 3 dayI have tried different lights over the years for my birds since my house is fairly dark. This one is the best product I have come across so far. It gives them plenty of light so I dont have to worry anymore.

> 3 dayI am so happy I decided to get this. My conure had gotten a burn from the previous lamp I used! I felt so bad and guilty! this lamp does it all, he gets the spectrum hes been missing and is a happy fella again. & pleasantly recovering from his burn as well now.. couldnt be happier. I got the 18, and so glad I did, my cage is 2 x 2 x 3 and it fit perfectly. I removed the grey plastic clips that were on the lamp, as they werent doing anything to assist and I didnt see any use for them. As you can see in the photo it helped in clipping the lamp to the cage a bit better. I did find it was a tight fit with the braces otherwise. Overall I love this light!

> 3 dayGood light! My bird loves it. She gets right up next to it and she has also stopped plucking now.
