My Husband is becoming an expert with these carry-on backpack/suitcases which he prefers over a rolling bag. He likes carrying everything on his back so he has the ability to help me and our kids with his free hands. He has bought several carry-on size backpacks (between 35-45L). The Yeti Crossroads, the Patagonia Black Hole and a bag from Target. The Yeti Crossroads was 35L and it did not expand, and was therefore too small for my husbands frame. If the Yeti was 45L we probably would have kept it, but the $250 price point was a bit high for what it was. The 2nd bag we purchased was a $60 Target Made By Design convertible backpack. The Made By Design bag held way more than you would have ever thought, unfortunately the durability was a issue and after two trips the zippers separated from the fabric and we returned it. My husband currently uses a Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45 which he is thrilled with - good quality, durable, and will last forever. But not cheap at $250 So now lets talk about this backpack! Since this backpack is unbranded for ease we will call it by the store name selling Molnia. I find the Molnia bag to be of similar quality to other bags in this price range. I would imagine if you do not over pack it or abuse the back it will hold up well. The Molnia has no water deterrent/ water resistant characteristics in fact if you plan to spend time in the outdoors in a wet climate, then this is probably not the bag for you. Size: It is listed as 47L with expansion however it certainly feels and is smaller than the Patagonia 45L bag. I don’t know how they measure these bags but it is shorter and not as deep as Patagonia. So if the Patagonia bag is 45L. Then this feels more like 43L. Exterior: I really like the ability to bury the shoulder straps in the pocket. Which is a big plus If you ever flying and need to check the bag. In addition, it can be carried like a suitcase. The clasps and straps, handles are well attached and should provide some durability. The Molnia bag has plenty of outer compartments to hold items which need quick access. Interior: The main section for clothing is roomy, well constructed and has two compartments for organization. One side is a large pouch the other side is open like a suitcase with cross straps. They provided several interior bags for packing: toiletries, a larger bag, smaller bag and shoe bag. Unfortunately they arent the best quality - but they are decent. I would use them all except for the toiletries bag. The third compartment for computers and electronics is ver well padded and has plenty of compartments to hold your electronics in place. The interior computer sleeve easily holds my 17 inch laptop with a strong velcro latch to hold it in place. In sum: Overall I think it is a great value at this price point, well constructed, looks nice and is very well padded. For a weekend jaunt its a great bag at this price point. I just wish it was water-resistant.

I was really pleased when I opened this backpack and started checking out its many features. First of all it’s beautiful. It looks like really high quality classy luggage. I love the handy packing cubes and drawstring bag for shoes. That’s a really nice feature! I fit everything I would need for a weekend trip into this without having to open the expanders. It’s really roomy. I appreciate the cushioned section for my laptop. It also has a zippered compartment for the backpack handles if you choose to unhook and zip them up, converting it into a regular size carry on. The backpack handles are very comfortable with extra padding to ensure comfort. Great travel backpack!!

I use this backpack for everything now. I got the tan one because I could overnight it when I was going on a cruise and leaving the next day. The tan color was darker than expected, but I liked the color a lot more. It fit so much stuff in it and still fit into the Spirit container and under my seat with no issues. I use this when going away for the weekends or while travelling. It has such great quality and I would recommend that you buy this item, if you are looking for an affordable and great quality travel backpack.

I was impressed when I went through the backpack/bag. It has many pockets and compartments to separately store items for travel. I feel like this was very well thought out when it was designed. It is a little bulky for an everyday backpack, but great for business trips or weekend getaways! The backpack straps hide easily to turn it into a suitcase, where it has a handle on the side for easy carry. It also has a strap on the back to put the handle of a rolling suitcase through for easy travel. The separate compartments for clothing are a nice upgrade, so as to keep items separate and easy to find. This is nice to keep your clean and dirty apart when the time comes. The padding for the backpack is nice and thick for comfort, as well as there is padding to keep your laptop from having a hard surface against your back. All of the zippers and clips seem like they will hold up well. I will be traveling soon to really test it out and I will update this if I have issues with the bag, but I am not anticipating any. So far, highly recommended.

OK, so I got this to use to carry my work laptop. and it turns out that this did not work for that. there is not enough organization, so other than the laptop sleeve, it just didnt work for that purpose. but that is more on me. Then we used it for a short trip over Thanksgiving and as a small piece of luggage it works great. there is plenty of room for the stuff my wife needed as an overnight bag while on the road (toiletries & a couple of days of clothes). we didnt use the backpack straps but the stowed in the pocket on the back w/o any problem. If your looking for a good overnight bag, that can also be carried as a backpack then this is terrific.

And ultimately, settled on something else instead, however there wasnt anything about this backpack that I didnt like. It was totally fine - I just felt like the placement of the compartments on the other backpack I did end up taking, was more suitable for my needs on our trip. Its a great generic backpack for anyone going to school or looking to use it for work.

    Greater than one week

Lots of compartments, good for hiking or a road trip. When fully packed maybe too big to fit in small plane overhead storage and will not fit under the seat. Maybe a smaller size would work better.
