This gate is well made overall and serves its purpose just. For me, the purpose was to keep some rooms off limits from our new dog. The issue I have is that I bought two within about a month of each other. As you can see from the photos I attached, one handle has an angle to it whereas the other is more square. The version with the angled handle shuts and opens far more smoothly. I frequently find myself fumbling with the latch of the square version to ensure it is fully latched. Obviously, this is not ideal. The version with the square latch was the second one I received, but I cannot tell if it is an older or newer design. It is certainly the inferior version and had I received it first, wouldnt have bought it again. Overall, the version with the angled handle is 5 star and the square handle is a 2-3 star item at best, especially given the price. I didnt return it only because my application is not as critical as keeping a toddler from falling down a flight of stairs.

Works great for our dogs

This gate was exactly what I was looking for on our deck to keep our 2 small dogs safe. Easy installation with clear instructions. Best gate we have had compared to others. Our steps are 48 inches and fit perfectly and well secured.

When first installing these gates, it was quite difficult to do. The threaded stems attached to circular plates to go into each of the fours corners were quite difficult. Especially when you dont want to mount (with holes) into your door ways. I realized that the problem is when tightening these treaded stems at each corner which has tight holes but without threads. What I recommend is to buy additonal M10-1.5 hex nuts (qty=4) so that each steam has two nuts. Tighten one nut against the cirular plate on each end to solve the problem of gripping the end from turning as you tighten the 2nd nut towards each corner of the gate. The streaded stem is long enough to be stable and be firm after the installation. The purpose is to stablize the gap between the gate and the doorway. No holes in the wall and the gate is rock hard in place. Problem solved.

So I purchased 2 of these gates and they are awesome! I do have a minor (sort of) complaint - I put one at the top of our stairway and the bottom of the gate has a bar that makes me feel uneasy when walking downstairs...I feel like I am going to trip on it. That is the only negative and not really a negative because I know they make stair specific gates that dont have a bottom bar... I just didnt realize thats what I needed (new parent things). If you need this for your staircase...I would get something without the bottom bar so that you dont have anything you need to step over when going downstairs with your kids. Other than this, awesome and sturdy gates.

I love that this gate is adjustable to fit different doorways. It was easy for me to install since I read the instructions before getting started. Use is easy and it does the job. We use it to keep dogs out of the kitchen. Its easy to pass through, and gate automatically closes behind you. Unless you leave it at a 90° angle then it stays open. The dogs have not tested it or tried going through it so I cant review as far as that goes but Im sure we will find out as we have a new baby and she will. Im sure test it when she gets bigger. But it does keep the dogs out of the kitchen. They respect it

Got this to contain a new puppy. So far we are loving it! It was easy for my daughter-in-law to install. We didnt do the permanent installation but if it needs a more permanent install we have the included hardware. So far very impressed with this baby/puppy gate!

This gate keeps my giant, friendly puppy in one place as she continues her training. One-handed opening is easy, and when it latches it solidly closed! The finish is beautiful and matches my decor perfectly. The directions were very easy to follow. I purchased extra thick wall caps (set of 4) to use in addition to the ones provided. They were suggested when I put the gate in my cart. I haven’t had to readjust this gate since it’s initial installation, and the puppy body slams it frequently! Great buy!
