Im not sure what I will use this for...but someday it will come in handy around the house. I find little tools like this come in handy around the house, garage and shed. It seems I frequently use my scribe for things...this tool will be a nice addition to my arsonal. It is pretty sturdy/strong...I dont think I will bend this tool, with use within reason. It seems of good quality, nice finish, nice knurled handle...and I saved the BEST for last....wait for it.......... When I opened my package I was greeted with a beautiful American flag sticker proudly sporting... MADE IN U.S.A. ...what a great feeling it was...I cant remember the last time I felt like that! Moody Tools...made by our brothers & sisters in Rhode Island, U.S.A. I will be sure to look for the Moody Tools brand in the future. No I am NOT an employee. Update: 01-07-13: Well, i used it, it did come in handy around the house...less than a month after I unwrapped it for Xmas (bought it for myself). True story here...my 7 y/o girl lost the keys to the little padlock on an old journal of hers she found buried in her room. In her world, apparently this was an issue that needed to be resolved and was of a time critical sort. Last night I spent about an hour with my tool arsonal trying to pick this cute little girlie padlock. It became obvious quickly, this lock was not just for show, this lock really was built to keep her big brother from reading it. Anyway, I utilized this tool, 4 different scribes, precision screw drivers and about anything else that might pick this lock. No luck! Told her it was time for bed and she needed to find the key...keep looking for it. Today she still could not find the key, her and Mom gave me permission to destroy the lock if I had to. I did not want to brake it, the lock itself is really cute, so I tried, tried again...to pick this thing. Now knowing that destruction was the next step, I used more force than before and used this tool...I was convinced its shape was the closest shape I had to the lost key. I was pretty rough with it...twisting pretty hard...then..... YES...success. This tool worked successfully, and was responsible for solving all of the worlds problems today for my little girl. Oh, thats right, the tool...after some vigorous twisting and bending forces, metal on metal type, this tool and its tip did not bend or get damaged. I utilized the flat tip in this operation. Not sure when Ill ever use it again, but even if it was just for this one occasion, it was worth the few dollars. I did wish its knurled handle was a little bigger around for a better grip though. Hope this helps.

The best tool you never knew you needed. Seriously, just grab one up. This one is well-made, seems to be reasonably hardened and tempered tool steel of some kind that didnt easily bend.

This is a great product. Should be in the tool kits of anyone who tinkers with equipment. It is steel, 8 1/2 inches long and has a hook on one end and a notched lifter on the other. The hook is the perfect size to get into any sort of small area that you need to pull, or grab or find something and get hold of it. The tool is strong enough that it can take a strong pull and hold its shape. Has already saved a number of wires, screws, lined up parts, etc etc. Bob Makowsky

Just like the IBM spring hooks I purchased when repairing typewriters many years ago.

It broke after a couple of uses. I got it to use on carburater springs. Too bad!!! I absolutely love the design and its awesome for the springs. Maybe I got a bad one. Not sure

this works great and the magnetic installer side works better than the other ones I have used. I fix printers and other equipment.

This is just perfoect for working on computers. I had one and lost it when I moved, immediately ordered two more. Helpful when pulling things apart, securing a stray wire you cant reach or pulling dust bunnies out of CPU sinks.
