I work on old air-cooled VWs (hobby not professionally), so Im pretty familiar with stripping down paint and rust. Ive used these kind of stripping wheels before. These are a fairly aggressive grit so they wipe away even the old hard original paint fast and handle surface rust quickly. These can take off some metal too if you go heavy with them so like most tools like this you have to use light pressure and let the tool do the work. They seem to have a pretty good life before theyre too worn out to keep using and the price point for 10 is very good. Im fairly cautious with 5 star reviews. I only give 5 stars to a product that has exceptional quality features, exceptional value for the retail price, or both. These have good service life and last pretty well, they do the job, and the price is good. Thats a 5 star product in my book!

I powdercoat a lot of hitches and need various types of medium to get into all the crack and crevasses before the final sandblast to prepare for shooting the powder. My grinders are Dewalts and they are a perfect size with one exception. The thickness of the pad makes it very difficult to tighten the nut. I have a replacement nut set that works really well for this. I got it here on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QN53R1Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Its very reasonably priced and may save you some issues. As for how long they last?? Well I have to look at them as a needed consumable. I go through about 50 to 100 a year but these save so much time it is worth it. I took a picture of the before and after of one of the hitch bars. This literally took 5 minutes for all sides. Time is money and these are my favorite tools for removing the slag, coatings or rust from flat surfaces. I hope you find this review helpful.
